Thank you for ruining random skirmishes

The title said it all. Did random skirmishes for the last time today. I was the only player with an IL over 10k. On average 5-7k IL including guild boons. This is insulting.

Yea, sure. I can build a group of five players and que for random skirmishes, but the idea, to que random and have fun was ruined. Now, if you que with PuGs, you are stuck with playing alt number 10, 4, 11 and 27 on their daily RAD run.

To all you goody two shoes out there, no this are no new players. This are alts. Multiple class artifacts, trade bar gear, free account companions and known guild tags. My praying alts have better gear, no boons at all and higher IL. Failed IG runs and bronze or silver POM or TODG runs are the result.

Random que, as it is, makes no sense at all, if the goal was, to build random groups.

Epic dungeons: Min IL for the dungeons are to low. FBI and MSP are an instant fail in 9 out of 10 runs, even in CN, EGWD and TOS you can get screwed, it your team mates are THAT bad. VT, ELOL etc, well I was able to run them on my own, more or less, before, so nothing changed here.

Random dungeon: Yea, go for RAD with a 14-17k IL char. I could weep for the fun of it.

Random skirmishes was the only thing I qued for random, not viable anymore.
Chars: CW, DC, GF, GWF, HR and TR.

For the record, random queue with PUG is never fun for any shape or form unless the fun part is to earn AD.

The system was designed with one goal - to make it "harder" to get the RAD. Unfortunately, harder here usually means less fun rather than difficult.

See Also: Chult Hunts, Lures, UES, +5 Rings.

They will obviously never admit it and crafted a good story about the random queues, but ultimately, all they wanted to do was get people out of ETOS for hours on end.

The sad thing is, it could work. Break up the queues into a few more pieces and it could be great. As it stands...meh. Not to mention all this feedback was provided before it went live, and the devs felt they knew better, so they ignored it.

Actually, that's not true this time (yes usually they want to give less AD). Their one goal was to get queues in general to fire faster but without any success factor with regard to fun, success, practicality of the said run.

That's right, all they care about is if you can queue up will it at least load you up in the dungeon.

Random skirmish is the ONLY random I do, can't do random epic dungeon due to bugs in too many of them, won't do random lowbie dungeon and ruin it for lowbies. PoM and ToDG are a bit of a PITA in that people take one look and disconnect, but I've got gold on them with some seriously underpowered teams (I'm always 13-15K but quite often nobody else more than 9K, and my chars are by no means great DPS), and NEVER EVER failed to get at least silver even with 4 people.

Also, part of the idea was to get AD-seeking Lvl-70 toons to run dungeons other than Cloak Tower & TOS so that leveling toons would see these queues pop more than once per week 0,o

Been there and it is so annoying. The final straw for me was waiting seven minutes for a dude to even get into the start circle.

Today was a new low for me though. In normal spell plague I had a character with 300 item level and I thought wtf...then inspected the other only to see he had an item level of 150.

I feel your pain - it also made me laugh a bit

That is when you walk right back out the start door and disconnect from the instance. I refuse to do SP, far too much work for the same reward as cloak tower.

Part of the problem, IMO, is that they linked AD and Dungeoneer's Shards into these randoms; so now in 5-10min you can knock out two birds.

I'd love to see them add an AD dungeon - something more unique than just, "go kill stuff and click glowies," and less painful than the insta-kill mechanisms in a lot of the new content. Then instead of AD as a reward for randoms, make it a random key (including lockbox and strongbox).

There'd still be incentive to run the randoms and keep queues firing - possible lockbox/strongbox key.
There'd be a consistent way to farm AD - through the new (unique) dungeon.
There'd no longer be a absolute need to wait 24hrs to craft a dungeon key - just run the randoms a few times.
With dungeon keys more accessible there'd also be reason to run non-random dungeons for fun as well. It used to be to knock out a guild quest, now there's hardly a reason to que for any specific dungeon... ever.

Most long time players would not see a key (except lockbox) as an incentive. They have had VIP for years and all of them (at last the ones I know) have hundreds of spare dungeon keys.

I think, that there are enough incentives, to run skirmishes etc. Without min IL, no ability to kick leechers and a leavers penalty for the player who does not want to run with other players undergeared alts, there are to few incentives to make players behave. This system is highly abuseable and ppl abuse it.

3 epic keys per day. And little reason to run 3 epic dungeons per day.
I'm not looking for forgiveness, and I'm way past asking permission. Earth just lost her best defender, so we're here to fight. And if you want to stand in our way, we'll fight you too.

Its got much worse recently. [Skirmish abuse]

Its now running at 5% of the time the player disconnects before we start which means I just take the 30 minute penalty.

As to bad behaviour? Once we start the skirmish it seems to run pretty smoothly other that people killing Hulks in ToDG or arguing over what level to go to in IG.

Which is super ironic since I, as an Xbox player who can't do random epic queues yet, did my first random dungeon yesterday..... and..... it was Cloak Tower. With three 70s. It was actually a bit like a Three Stooges episode because we were inadvertently all over each other while speeding through the dungeon.

The random skirmish was IG, and one poor soul kept voting to leave after a few deaths. I don't think they were prepared.
