Mysterious Companion

I've seen a new Panther-like companion three times now; it looks like the regular Panther but it has dark gray spots all over it like a normal leopard. And before you ask, no, it's not the Fey Panther since that one has glowing eyes and blue/white spots & swirls (which this new one doesn't). To a casual observer this companion looks like the regular Panther, only being particularly recognizable as different when you "Inspect" it. Some guildmates suggested that maybe it's a glitch and since I've heard the Snow Leopard companion's code supposedly exists in the game it could possibly be a bugged textural amalgam of that and the Panther. Has anybody else seen it? Can anybody confirm that it exists or that it is indeed a glitch?

    I just ran into it for the fourth time yesterday. While the owner failed to respond to a private message I managed to grab a screenshot while "inspecting" the companion. If anybody wants to check it out it's near the top of my Xbox profile's Activity Feed.

    I know it's been a while but I encountered another person who had one and we had a group chat 'conversation' about her spotted Panther. It appears to be an alternate (glitched?) final skin for the regular Panther companion. She got her Panther as a drop so I tested this by buying an epic Panther off the AH and the final skin, Master Predator, is indeed spotted unlike my Champion of the North version which is merely a darker black. So for now I'll assume that all the ones available on the AH have spots at Master Predator until I'm shown otherwise.
