  It could have been worse, you might have got the companion experience tomes, which your companion undoubtedly doesn't need and which you can't even discard!

  You can use them on a full companion to get rid of them.

  I store them. 8 characters and not all of them have full companion slots. Some barely have the 5 active.

  They should add Genie Tokens to overflow rewards.
  Account bound and expanded up to Mod 9, those would be great rewards.
  Could be shared with all the alts we loathe to put through the grind.
  
  And Genie Tokens would have zero cost to Cryptic (no zen market competition, cannot be sold by gold farmers).
