Request: Companion Volume Slider

Please, pretty pretty please, can you add a volume slider for companion sound effects of OTHER players?!

I ask this because of the seriously annoying roar sound effects of the new manticore companion... have any of the devs actually stood around an area where these things are? I am constantly having to turn down my volume in populated areas where these companions are... the roar these companions constantly give off is really, really, annoying and there is no way I can find to disable or reduce the volume of them.

This would also help reduce the annoyance of the constant ticking noise the Gateway companion makes as well, or any other companion sound effects people may find irritating after a while.

Just add a slider to the array of the ones we already have under options perhaps? :)

I don't even know which @handles to use... @mimicking#6533 @strumslinger @asterdahl I think are some!

Id go one step further and wish for a way to completely ignore other players companions entirely. There is no real need, or advantage, in hearing, or even seeing, them. But plenty of benefit in reducing object clutter and improving frame rates. As well as being a welcome QoL game improvement.

Agree with the above. I'd go a step further and request the ability to disable seeing Knight's Valor on my characters in PE.

So now that there are even more manticore companions in the world... please, please, add a volume slider.

It wouldn't be so bad, but you made the manticores really, really, annoying with their extra loud roar that seems to go off constantly, especially when there are multiple companions around an area.

At least most other companions have quieter sound effects and aren't these super annoying loud roars... which really, to me, just sound like the dragon roar sound effect was slightly modified and given an echo.

I doubt anything will be done about this... but I can hope and dream for a volume slider... in the meantime, I guess no more sound for me while I am in public areas! :disappointed:

I agree with the option to turn off companion sfx. Not only with the Manticore, but I've also had to stop using the rimefire golem because of their constant grunting while I'm just trying idling in PE.

The idle sound volume on the Manticore, the Rimefire Golem, the Mimic, the little demon on his floating disc, the lizard Shaman and also, the sound of that shield on players make me run when i'm around them. These companions are really really to look at and i'd like to use my Golem and my Mimic but i cannot. I am not whining. I have a condition which causes me to be very sound sensitive so it would be good if we are heard on this issue. Please i beg you. Help us with this. :/

Well, with the recent patch notes they did indicate some changes to sound effects for companions, mounts, and abilities:

    • The Apprentice Healer companion has had their sound volume lowered, and the randomization between their comments has been adjusted.
    • The Brightness setting now properly re-enables itself when playing in Windowed mode, if the player changes focus to a different program, then back to Neverwinter.
    • The Gelatinous Cube mount has had its sound volume lowered.
    • The Manticore companion now plays its flavor animation less frequently.
    • The Manticore companion has had its sound volume lowered, and its timbre has been adjusted.
    • The Silverback Bear mount now properly has audio on its flourish animation.
    • Various classes have had certain power audio adjusted.
    • Primarily, certain frequent-use At-Wills with "roar" or "battle cry" type sounds have been adjusted to instead use a grunt more appropriate to a quick attack.
    • When playing their flourish animation, horses' whinnies are now more consistent in sound.

I haven't been around a lot of Manticore pets since the patch so I haven't noticed the new volume... or maybe I have and it has been adjusted so well I didn't notice!? ;)

"I have one word for you...leeches!"

"Could you fight something with a big...club?"

"I have one word for you...leeches!"

How I long for the days of "they shall feel divine wrath". If nothing else, her tone was a lot softer.
