Perfect Bark Shield Enchantment.. the most unpopular item?

For the past month I have been trying to get rid of a perfect bark shield enchantment. There are almost no bark shield enchantments in the AH and only 2 perfect bark shields including mine. Mine is now selling for 1mil, the cheapest any has been for the entire month and 1.6mil cheaper then the other one but no ones buying and its been a week. Ive offered trading it frequently but no ones interested, ive concluded that this is the most unpopular item ive ever seen and aside from dropping the price (ive been dropping it for a month and am unwilling to go lower then 1mil). Im not even certain that it will sell if I drop it as no one seems to want it. This is more or less me venting my frustrations with this enchantment but if anyone has suggestions or advice im open to anything you can come up with.

its a decent enchantment for tanks, though plague fire is the better alternative (or feytouched). So, beside of tanks no one else really has an use for it.

Thats true but from a money making stand point there are only 2 there one is 2.6mil and mine is 1mil thats prime for someone who buys low and sells high. Im just baffeled its been a month and still nothing.

There is no point to buy it cheap and try to sell it expensive again, when nobody wants the item. If it doesn't sell, the buyer made a loss of 1 million.

    This one gets it.

I'm not trying to be rude... but there is a good reason why nobody wants a Barkshield... and it's because Barkshield is a rather poor choice as an Armor Enchant.

For DCs/healers, if you're getting hit enough to make Barkshield useful, you should reconsider your selection of tank.

For DPSers, if you're getting hit enough to make Barkshield useful, you should consider dodging red circles.

As a tank, you're either getting tickled for no damage, getting hit by a oneshot, or getting hit by piercing damage. If the damage asorbed by barkshield is a matter of life and death, then imo you'd do better off with a Negation, Soulforged, or even a less than Transcendent Shadowclad.

I don't think that Barkshield would even help in PvP, given how some shaving small damage off hits would barely help against the toptier threats (Combat HR and their piercing damage, for example)

Im regretting this purchese but Im hoping that eventually someone will take it off my hands. I tryed trading it frequently for an item worth slightly less but is more popular but I have yet to get even 1 offer. Im chalking this one up to a loss and lesson well learned.

The only class I've found Barkshield useful on is the TR. It works best where you don't take many hits but when you do, it hurts. (I.e. a class that has high avoidance mechanics but low DR).

I believe it absorbs much more damage than stated as my 2.6k TR can take a couple of big hits in a row before showing any real sign of damage, by which time I'm dodging out of the way. It'd be useful if someone on PC could test it with ACT.

Thing is, most TR's go with soulforged but I have seen a few high level ones with Barkshield.

oh, right. Barkshield is an armor enchant. Mistook it with the bronzewood weapon enchant.

@armadeonx said it best. TR is the only class Barkshield could possibly be useful.
Terrible for a tank. It would never hold a full charge.
I am sympathetic, but do NOT want anyone to buy it from you. Why? So they can be just as miserable?
Why the heck did you buy it without researching it first?

    Hey OP.

I have very good news for you.

With the new Cloaked Ascendency patch on PC, Barkshield got a MASSIVE buff.

It now blocks for 20k damage up to 80k damage at 4 stacks of barkshield.

That... is actually not bad! Not toptier, but certainly not useless!

I might actually reccomend it for my Tactician GF setup!

    Didn't see this.
If true, Barkshield is no longer garbage. Do you have a reference?

I don't know how to use an image hosting website ala Lightshot or Imgur.

I should have clarified that the Barkshield changes happened on Preview server, not the live server (got caught up in the moment).

You can "buy" a preview test copy for a mere 1 copper piece from the Wonderous Bazaar on Preview.

I'm guessing this change wasn't part of the recent patch?
Can't seem to find any details on this proposed change. Anyone else had any luck?

The Barkshield change has only appeared on PC preview.

It hasn't even appeared on PC's live, much less, on consoles.

    Things are subject to change.

In the patch notes for module 11 they talked about making the poor enchantments thrown to the side more on par with the ones actually used.

Yeah I've bought a bunch of Lightning enchants in hope.

The armour/weapon enchant market has always been a pain in the bottom. As soon as you list them you've been undercut or ghey won't sell. That's why so many people trade them.

I admit, I quite like the Lightning enchant on my HR.
It might not do much damage, but when you get in a big mob fight the chains do help cooldowns.
But more (i.e. "noticeable") damage would be nice.

Yeah, just because an enchantment isn't BiS, doesn' mean it isn't helpful. :3 Having a group running multiple enchantments is noticable.
