Opinions of the Neverwinter 2016 winter festival?

The least they could have done is made the artifact upgradable with winter RP. All that RP is just vendor trash. I have almost no motivation to play this year. because I have nothing to work towards. If I could still upgrade my arti I would be grinding the hell out of this event; spending time in game working towards goals that would benifit all of my alts. Why cant they seam to realize they need to think of the people who have been here since the first fawn pun echoed off the icy rocks of the fishing pond.

Now I feel like I have nothing to look forward to in events to come.

The fact that when you get your Simiril aftifact to Epic, you can't use the Simiril RP to feed it *is* a bit disappointing. I have no real reason to use regular RP in it, and the Simiril RP can only be sold to vendors, not even transferred to alts.

Well, the ZEN charge Winter Festival companion doesn't deliver the right amount of bonus Lights of Simril,
the loot table for the rewards from gifts seems to be out of order,
and while that gift halo around a players head near the bonfire is a little help to avoid gift scammers, it appears that it's still to easy to scam other players out of their gifts without having to fear any punishment at all.

Unless they come up with some patch to fix at least the Winter Festival bugs pretty fast, i'm saying this Winter Festival round goes at Krampus... again.

The Demon sled is cool, the artifact is useless for me, and the fact we cannot use it to refine other artifacts is garbage. The glitched packages not giving out the expected rewards is also garbage, so overall very disappointing.

You can not use any freely obtainable artifact as a feeder (Halloween Winter Fest, Class Sigil). The primary reason is, they are free, and you could just keep buying and using them to gain RP free. They also specifically drop more of the special RP, so allowing you to feed the special stuff into a standard artifact would be a very bad idea.

Overall, the winter festival has been basically the same for 3 years, has had issues every - single - time it comes around. At least nobody is getting banned this year....yet.

Basic issues that need to be addressed:

- People changing levels and being unable to compete in the monsters event.
- The entire gift concept is a nice idea, but results in mass spamming and the most un-friendly experience I've seen. It needs to be completely redone. I don't know how, but the concept of "giving" and MMOs just don't seem to go together. People largely only want to give if they get - a reflection of the world as a whole basically. It would be nice if there was a way to make it more about giving than receiving, but that would require a reward and thats against the point.
- - Making the gifts of simril bound to account would be nice too. Most people are just using them on an alt, then switching to a main....seems awefully tedious.....but in line with the game at this point I guess.
- Scarves - REALLLY? I honestly think they are pretty cool looking, but when everyone has them, and you have gotten 100 of them...not so much.
- Bound companions - Instead of dropping companions, perhaps drop a token that can be used for a selection of companions at a vendor? Same for mounts. Nothing sucks worse than getting your 5th bound warlock. OR make them Bound to Account. Something to make them useful.
- Fireworks, other novelties.....I get it, they are fun, but when you get them every single time.....ugh. They are vendor trash at best.

Anyways, it is what it is and its not required...so. meh. I use it to get a couple free companions and the transmutes (transmutes that should be in a seperate storage BTW...another topic).

Ahem...i voted no , but if there was a middle ground i would have voted for the middle ground.

Let me explain why .

Positive :

The new vender that exchanges treasures for campaign currencies is a brilliant idea.

Yes it comes from fishing and all. But i would rather fish in Winter event then SOMI. ( No offense meant )

The new helper you get if you get some zen.

Very nicely thought idea. I am liking it very much.

The new throne ( shiney ice thingy ) is nice. This is um... the forth one and i love it.

Negative :

For the people who where here for a winter event last year , except currencies there is not much you offered.

I can see why and can understand it is for all levels and etc.. For new people to have fun and get new things.

It is supposed to be a joyful and fun time of the year where Cryptic showers its faithful zen spenders with fashion transmutes and prizes for their loyalty.

And the same faithful and persistent players buy zen and spend them on Shiney little parcels hoping to get a Forghammer of gond... i mean prizes .

The shiney little parcels are not giving things they where supposed to , after players opened the designated amount... ?

The shiney new little helper is not giving lights as he is supposed to ... ?

( someone please verify this for me , if that is okay ? )

Once you get your artifact to purple , you need to trash or sell the refinement thingies .
If you want to get it to legendary you need to use normal ref.
I hate trashing things. It feels horrible. I get the lumens and all i do with them is sell them for some gold.

Opening gifts : Everyone likes gifts.
Also everyone hates trashing them since it is bound to character and having 5 same companions on the same char is kinda a waste of space.
So ...trashing them again. ( Seriously hate it. )

This is just my two cents.
In any case i love you all and stuff.
