Are character names tied to one account (email) cross platform?

I play on the PS4. Today I had the silly idea of playing on PC. My character's names are tied to my PS4 gamertag but in a way setup to look like an email. I was wondering if I can use the same character name on PC as I do on PS4.

    I would think you would be able to, since the two platforms do not intermingle.

    There shouldn't be any issues at all with this. I play on both PC and Xbox, and many of my characters share the same character names... though now that I think about it, my @handle isn't the same as my gamertag (someone stole my name. :( ) but I still don't think there will be any issue.
