I can't believe I'm writing this, because I've been raging about it to my guildmates ever since "endgame fishing" was announced... but fishing is kind of fun.
There, I said it.
Also, kudos for putting meaningful loot into the treasure chests! My jaw dropped when I saw the contents of the first buried chest I dug up:
- 50k RP towards relic weapon (Rough Amethyst)
- 25k RP towards relic weapon (Shimmering Hill Emerald)
- 2xBlack Opal
- assorted Ostorial relics (purple/green/blue)
Not gonna lie, I am really pleasantly surprised.

and the map (as in level) is very beautiful!
thank you!
Not trying to be negative, really, I find fishing to be "ok" (for the first few days anyway), but like everything else, it's wrapped around a great big rng that seems to pleasantly surprise people other than me.
So, the fishing part is not fun (for me at least). The fun part is the good stuff you get from a treasure map.
I got a bloody Blood Ruby (see what I did there) in one. I almost reported myself for exploiting since I though it must be a glitch. This kind of loot should be in a dungeon if you ask me. But I will not complain to get it in a treasure map.
And yes, the amount of RP we get from those maps is just so "expect a nerf" overwhelming. Although secretly, I'm hoping it will not happen.
Oh, and the 110% Kheyk is sweet, too. ;-)
So, yeah, fishing is actually a strong point - as it works with everything else. Fishing gives mats and maps. There is incentive to do it, but you don't *have* to (you can buy the mats instead). It does reward nicely, though, overall.
