I'm curious about GF damage

Hello everyone,
this is not a flame post, actually I am enjoing my pvp experience with my HR 3,5 after I decided to go full pvp, but I am curious about the actual mod 10 GF class. My question is, where does all the high damage spike come form? It seems that their single target encounters are the strongest in pvp nowdays, even with a relative low power rating. HR is pretty good with piercing blades and plant growth but is easly dogable. When facing a GF I have really hard times: he blocks, turn aound with shield up waiting for encounters refresh, encounters rotation and repeat. I heard someone speaking about "jagged blade" referring to damage spike of GF, but I'd like to have some clarification just to understand how to face the "menance" ^^

Mod 10 changed the dominance of GF a bit imo, since Anvil of doom is nerfed , like Knights challenge vs player and Villains menace also.

The damage GF deals comes from:
    1. Shield Warriors wrath by blocking (classfeature) +20% damage (5 stacks)
    2. Mark (mechanic) +20% effectiveness from debuff
    3. If IV paragon, Threatening rush (at will) +8% effectiveness from debuff (double mark)
    4. Tide of iron (at will) +20% effectiveness from debuff or WMS +30% effectiveness from debuff
    5. feats like wrathfull warrior +15% damage, jagged blades 750% weapon bleading DOT on crit, if used tactical superiority (+13% damage, -8% debuff), Conquerer Capstone +25% damage
    6. ITF + 30% damage
    7. Villains menace + x% damage

Till mod 9 GF was king of the road, now he is more in line i would say.
Normally the GF is doing the following
    1. Block till 5 stacks from SWW 2. mark (maybe 3. Toi or WMS) 4. pop wheel of elements 5. Villains menace (Daily)
    Afterwards following:
    6. ITF 7. Bullcharge 8. Anvil of doom at <50% health double damage (nerfed in mod 10 into a Dot) or....
    6. Knights challenge +50% damage (nerfed in mod 10 from 100%) 7. ITF 8. Bullcharge 9. 2 at wills

You could do the following. Keep distance till VM is run out (10 seconds cc immune + damage + defense buff after slams on the ground) that moment ITF will be run out also --> attack
Or try to cc him the moment he pops wheel in case he does not use elven armor enchant, because that will interrupt his "cascade of death" a bit, very annoying
...Or stack high defense, wich is uncommon for PVP HUnter I guess.
    or ask a PVP pro

Umm post completely ignores flourish and crescendo..... Old combo is still viable but stacking crit is actually worthwhile on a GF now. Anvil is decent but not your only option anymore. A crit strike flourish will ruin someone's day if it lands. Don't get stuck in the old mod mindset.

like: ITF-crescendeo-flourish - Bullcharge, hasta la vista baby?
Yes, I remember being oncycled by GF´s in mod 10 during my short visit in DOM :)
cc´d to death, in case he catched me once with crescendo/flourish
Staggering challenge with Knights challenge+Griffons Wrath I missed , sadly

Looking in the forum and at the threats, I witness an significant loss of activity and get the feeling, I read all those question and topics many many times before.
Looking at the requested ammount of Zen for exchange with AD, I get the feeling noone spends a coin for this game atm. , mod 10 seems to be a big disaster for cryptic, regarding the financial aspect, noone runs new content / FBI.
Looking at the upcoming mod I fear , it won´t get better.
Maybe next year there won´t be much to discuss about .... so I don´t care about balance anymore. :'(

Thank you, very exausitve! Now I undestand a bit more where the damage comes from... it is actually impressive! So I guess the best tactic is to have patience, recognize the main buff and strike with the melee rotation after this VM is over. It's everything about timing, because If i miss a rotation due to his shield, he's ready to strike again: we have a really little window to strike after this daily is over :/
