Remote play?

So I'm really into neverwinter, but I'm going to be traveling a lot for work the next few months. If I buy a PS Vita and have access to wifi (I will), would I be able to play neverwinter on the road? I guess I don't really understand how remote play works, and everything I've read about it is kind of vague

A quick search in bing for "playstation vita remote play" reveals an official playstation page that details it. (Sorry, Edge on the XBOX doesn't let me Copy/Paste)

Alas, like the XBOX's similar feature, Remote Play is only available on the same Wifi-Network that the PS4 is connected to.

Hellow, sorry to say, but you are wrong. You can use remote play from another network. You only need to enable it on your ps4 and have static ip (not sure about this, but i've done it for RP) on network your ps4 is connected to. The real issue is connection quality, for me using LTE from my SGS5 i sometimes lose connection to ps4 and it takes 2-5 to reestablish it. With wifi at my friends everything worked just right

Be sure though to check if your upload speed at home is high enough, since your PS4 has to be able to send the data at a sufficient speed to make this work. I have 2 Mbit and it's not really playable. I have read somewhere that you need at least around 10 Mbit for real fun. And mind you, it's the upload speed, not the dowload speed. You probably have enough of download speed anyway.

Also, please note that there is currently a bug in the newest PS4 firmware (V 4.0) which prevents remotely firing up the PS4 as long as there is no active HDMI protocol termination for it. Which means, your PS4 will only come up remotely if it is connected to a running tv-set or a similiar alternative (e.g. a AV-Receiver). That's right: Only then will the PS4 come up.

If you have a rooted android phone then you don't need to buy a Vita. There is a workaround to get the remote play app working on any android phone. Check the XDA forum. If you get a Vita instead, I think you have to use the bottom touch pad instead of L2/R2 because there is no L2/R2 so that might cramp your hand a bit. Alternatively you can use a windows laptop and plug in a DS4 because sony officially supports remote play on windows.

You have to use the touch pad on the back of your Vita not only for the L2/R2 buttons, but for the L3/P3 functionality as well. That's a bit tricky to say the least. All in all, the Vita is not very well versed for a real Neverwinter session. You can do everything you can with your controller. But I wouldn't want to use it during a fight. It's very good for micro management tasks, though. Like crafting and invoking.

Unbelievable! The patch 4.0.1 of today has fixed the HDMI termination problem. Yay! Remote play is possible again! (I'm soo happy )
