Hello developers, I want to hear from you about Vulkan. You want in the future include this API in Neverwinter game?

I do not intend to migrate from Windows 7 to 10 for several ethical reasons and I want to continue playing the game in the future.

    Ethical? As in you don't own 7, can't upgrade and want to reap the enhanced performance of Vulkan/DX12 ?

    I highly doubt they will re-write the entire game to use Vulkan, they may not even upgrade it to DX12, as reaping the benefits of that would require a complete re-write as well.

    I believe he is in the same boat as me. I own Windows 7 and don't like Microsoft's Windows 10 data gathering practices....those can be seen by many in the IT world as "un-ethical".

    Vulkan also shows significant performance increases in older hardware allowing older hardware to run games better with higher settings.

    You can also remove CPU bottlenecks as Vulkan will spread the load across all the cores. Check out this video showing the difference between the default API openGL 4.5 (same relative to DX11/DX9) and Vulkan API on a Dual Xeon system (16 cores / 32 threads). https://youtube.com/watch?v=-242kHW5fKA

    You should of grabbed the free upgrade while you can as Windows 7 support will come to an end down the road. That should be an obvious realization for you and everyone else. Business will not continue with outdated technology. Any Windows 10 data gathering practices are misleading and overblown by the media. If you hate Microsoft that much then uninstall it and install linux. Then you can deal with it in whatever way you want.

    Okay,

    How is the Data Gathering of Microsoft any different from Google? Both are "unethical" practices being used for more of a capitalist mentality one could say. Honestly, if you have updated to the latest NVidia drivers - that is if you use NVidia Graphics Card, then most likely you already have Vulkan installed whether for Win 7 or Win 10. I am unsure 100% sure if Win 7 has it installed but NVidia's Drivers as of roughly 4-5 revisions back included the Vulkan Enhanced Drivers/API automatically installed. At first I thought it was a malware I had not seen before then researched and found it to be safe. Honestly, LTS as @intoxin said is going to run out on Windows 7 as we saw roughly with XP. Honestly to each their own. If I had my druthers I'd be running this on WINE with Kubuntu. But I think throwing the term "Ethical" in with Vulkan and a Game and Win 10, well as my first sentence said, care to give up that Search tool you use? (Or any other number of tools that Google has gotten it's fingers dipped in you may be using but possibly don't realize. Heck they are knowing through Google Adsense/Adwords your buying to some degree.)
