How are you doing demon hunting if you don't have a contract? You can't get into the Pass or the Valley without a contract.
If you do have a contract there are several contacts that light up based on which contract you took for the day for daily quests.
I'm not looking for forgiveness, and I'm way past asking permission. Earth just lost her best defender, so we're here to fight. And if you want to stand in our way, we'll fight you too.

You can get into this state if you didn't finish the tutorial. The daily quests don't appear, but the demon hunting one does. You can faction up and go adventuring, but not get currency.
So, did the OP not finish the IWD tutorial, or... gods forbid... drop it?
Cut a really big onion in front of Auril.....I kid, I kid. Yeah, just follow the instructions above, or burn the AD to get genie's gifts and such. Unless you're rather well geared I suggest the former.

Did you choose your fraction as others suggested? i.e. joining Arcane Brotherhood or Ten Town. You need to renew the contract time to time.

I had a guildie who was stuck in the same situation. It is as beckylunatic describes, you have to finish the tutorial. Go and talk with the mayor, he will have some more tasks for you. Then once the tutorial is over, you should be able to accept quests from NPC's that give you Auril's Tears.

Whats the name of the major? or Is he call just "The Major"??

The person standing between the leader of two fractions. The Ten Town guy is on the left. The Arcane Brotherhood woman is on the right. The mayor is in the middle.

I really need help. I started the ice wind dale campaign and once i completed the starter missions i donated my Auril's tears to my guild coffer without my knowing that i needed them to start the first campaign mission to donate to the forge. I keep renewing my contracts but all i get is the daily pvp and demonic encounter daily missions and none of the daily quests that give auril's tears. Any advice or am i screwed?

Get your hands on a Genie's Gift and turn it in to the relic trader near the Black Ice Forge, that should get you the Tears you need. And never donate campaign currency to the coffer if you are still early in a campaign

you might have same problem as me do as sockmunkey says
I have tried everything he said and then some, i kept renewing my faction contracts everyday but all that would pop up would be the daily pvp and demonic encounters, and i can't seem to find and Genie's gifts anywhere
If you donate your first batch Auril's Tears, you have messed up the campaign. There's no use asking about quests because there's no way to get any. It is not the same problem you had.
@strumslinger@kreatyve This is something to point out to the devs. The IWD tutorial is fragile (so is Sharandar's; not sure about others). It was created prior to Strongholds, and assumes that players will always have access to the currency needed to complete the first campaign task which is required to unlock dailies. Since Strongholds was released, many new players (and even some experienced players running their latest alt) donate the currency in their eagerness to be helpful, and are then unable to continue. On PC and XBox, you can correct the situation by buying a bag of campaign currency, but this is not an option on PS4 because they don't have access to the item and the problem seems to be worse for PS4 because all the players are totally new to absolutely everything and don't know that it's critical to do things in the perfect order in these cases.
I doubt the devs will do anything about this since they only rush out updates when it's a dire emergency so i'm basically screwed until god knows when, It's also stupid that the developers would let this happen and not fix it somehow because like you said most of us are very new to this. i'm kicking myself in the head over this but thx for clearing it up anyways

I made sure that Andy sees this (or at least will see it tomorrow for sure). I believe it was quite an oversight on the devs part. Not something that I personally had thought about until you mentioned it, but that's partially due to the fact that I'm so OCD I have to finish the questline before logging out, and don't let myself go anywhere else til it's done.

When you unlock Dwarven Valley, 3 Dwarf Gold per day are possible there.
Or just cash in campaign relics, if you hate quests or something.

If you play on PS4, Genie's Gifts don't exist yet.
