Locking Low Levels Skirmishes...? :(

destrowoddestrowod Member Posts: 484 Arc User
This is something i heard, if its not true, than ignore this post.

But i heard low level skirmishes would be locked once you past the level comes next mod. Now you would think why would you want to do those anyway man? Simple...

1) Dragon Kills. Pirate Skyhold Skirmish is more or less a couple of low level mobs with a dragon. Its a way to rack up those dragon kills while making ADs at the same time. Of course there is different ways to kill dragons i know, but that one is the fastest by a mile. No need to wait to see messages pop saying "2 in 3" and such. Also despite me being able to solo the graveyard dragon with my GWF, it still take much mome time than the skirmish.

2) Getting ADs on support classes

On my GF, honestly i CAN do the dragon in pirate skyhold, but i bounce all over the place and its annoying. So usually i will go for the tower districk one, killing a bunch of low level orcs to gather those Daily 6K ADs.

Because yes if you do shores or kessel and such you do rack the ADs and good items as bonus, but the difference is, i don't always have a party to run with, or sometimes i may just not be in the mood to gather people to do them. Puging is ...puging... work when it want to work lol.

I know that the underdark skirmishes count, and this is probably one of the reason why they would change this, so more people queue them. And altough i don't mind doing them ocasionally, they take some time, and i don't always feel like running them, especially prophecy, it get old really fast. Throne has one of its variation still glitched too so it does not help. But more importantly they don't nail me a dragon kill...

Quite frankly between running all the gazillions dailies there is for refinements and such, sometimes i just don't have the time to run proper skirmishes, so those low level ones are ways to make a quick buck. And since after 2 times they barely give anything, i don't see how it really would/could "hurt the economy" .

I won't lie, this matter annoy me MOSTLY because of my way of racking a few extra dragons a day being removed. I am currently at 77% and i tried to go or 100 kills a month since i hitted 500 or so. So far in april i think i will run a bit behind unless i push more in the last few days, but i should be at at least 90%. But i still have 2 full months left of doing dragons. If i can't do pirate, then i feel it will be much longer... And yes i do dragons for the achievements, but also for the mount you get via the arc app. To get it, you NEED to have the full 1000 GS from the release version. I got all achievements in the game beside this one and still can,t recclaim it. And guess what.. by the PC sheets, this mount will be good to have for us peasants that don't have legendary mounts lol.

Buti n any case im sure lots of low item score guys probably enjoy running those low level skirmishes for a few diamonds more too on alternates.

I feel removing this from us like that is really not nessessary and for me its yet another decisions i really don't like. One of the many the devs have taken in recent months. That is, if of course, what i heard is true...

I don't understand the issue. We have always outleveled skirmishes. Skirmishes, starting with Blacklake, have a low and upper level requirement and when you pass the upper level the skirmish no longer appears in your queue. Access to Garrundar the Vile has always ended at level 47. This is nothing new or special to the next Mod.

I had no clue Pirates Skyhold had a skirmish, let alone a dragon.. How/where do you queue it?

Recently I created a new toon, leveled it mostly through the lower level skirmishes, and dungeons. It's unfortunate that these aren't available after a certain level. Content wise, I'm burned out running the same stuff day in and day out. It was refreshing to run the lower level stuff not available to my toons at 70.

From the queue menu, like everything else. It is available from level 40 to 47 and is called Garrundar the Vile. I've never counted the exact number, but most of the zones you level through have a skirmish. I know Neverdeath doesn't, but I can't think of the others that do not.

I found the link for the list.

Dragon runs in SH? My guild do them every saturday & sunday & we do about 8-10 runs each day. As we usually kill all 4 that's 64-80 dragon kills over a weekend. You also get the '4 dragons' achievement which is worth 2000 points.

You are correct in that they no longer show up in your que, however, you can still manually enter the skirmishes by traveling to that area and speaking to the skirmish NPC, who will allow you to enter it on your own or with a pre-made group. I always run them on double AD since its hard to pass on 14,000Ad x 8 characters = 112,000Ad for 45 minutes of time.

Master of the Hunt and Dread Legion don't take too long either if you want quick and easy. Also go run the dragons in Wells every hour, that adds up fairly quickly.

You can no longer enter skirmishes you have out leveled by going to the skirmish master. They have killed the option.

Now, I understand the issue. That option is being or already eliminated. Once they left my queue, I never went back to try them and because of that I did not understand the issue in the OP.

I'm sure they did this to take away another quick and easy to make your daily AD. The Ebon Downs & Pirates skirmishes could each be completed solo in under 5 minutes (Pirates had the bonus of getting you a quick dragon kill for the achievement too).

Dread Ring may be fast but it doesn't come close to only taking 5 minutes to complete and relies on the group you get stuck with.

Yes it seems they are eliminating a lot of AD sources. They removed resonators from old lockboxes so they don't drop anymore, you cannot enter lower level skirmishes, transmutes are no longer salvageable from trade bar store, and I heard that the last few rare leadership tasks that provide AD will be removed soon as well.
