I invested a lot of zen into game. I am not happy with what I am seeing. The steady decline is occurring. It is a shame since it was a nice game early on and now has become a expensive endeavor.

I play because my friends play

the story was fun, but after a certain point of running the same content over and over to get a certain loot drop it just gets too repetitive for me.

my only goals before my vip is out (and i likely move on)-
-3,000 gearscore,
-having the twisted set.
-having every boon from each campaign (minus last 2 in well of dragons and pvp)

im close to all of the above.

maybe a perfect vorpal
maybe a 140 mount

i figured i would play for 6-8 months, which is about what it will turn out to be.

not too bad for 50 bucks of entertainment money.

I still have over 310 days left on my ViP, when those are up... who knows?
If i manage to wrangle enough AD together for another ViP round, i might give NWO some more time. But i'm done with throwing more money at this game.

Overall too many wrong decisions were made over the last few months, too many game breaking problems were either ignored or newly added to the game, and way too much player feedback never got any official answer.

Not to forget the last Dev letter, which was just...

I have to say none of the above im not really invested anything unless you include time, the game currently isn't the most entertaining thing to play and quite frankly a well geared gwf makes everything easy... lol

Even though im in LGPG I didn't have to drop between 1-5mil to join, still used my ad to get someone else in, but im still glad to help donate anyway they need when asked. So really the only reason why I still play is I have nothing better to play that interests at the moment and I like seeing my IL and Damage scale higher.

Also im more of a Lone wolf type I prefer running things with pub groups the only time I run with my guild is when they ask me.

Neverinter is fun

I agree with some of the other folks here ... Neverwinter is fun. It certainly has its problems but they don't detract from my enjoyment of the game. For years, my friends and I wanted there to be a Dungeons & Dragons game that we could all play. NWN started it, and the IP's evolution eventually brought us Neverwinter.

Cryptic Studios + Wizards of the Coast = Win.

Best of all, it's free. Outside of any content-exclusives (i.e. certain mounts, companions, etc.), someone can unlock access to nearly all of the game's content without investing money in Zen. I like that.

No, It's not that I care about winning. It's that I have no reason to play the game.
So If I win something, Im not just gonna waste it. If there were no contest I'd just stop playing.

Simple words we've all said to you Sloth, reach 70 do the PvP or not you are missing a lot of the game and you complain a lot about things.

Love ya,but hate ya at the same time. Instead of gambling at the contests why not see how high you can get your IL and Progress? You'll get better in your field of play depending on how you play your cards of coarse.

I don't have time for level 70. It takes too long to get RP, takes too long to get Gear, everything in this game is way too exaggerated. It even takes too long to get around with a common mount. This game was perfect when the level cap was 60. I actually had a chance of getting gear then.

You'll get a lot more RP at 70 anyone of this forum can back that up with a lot of prove.

As for a mount go get to 70 and do the achievements to get the free Heavy Mystic Nightmare on the arc app on your dashboard, as for gear its fairly simple run T1's. Once you get to 70 msg my xbox profile ill drag ya through T1's and if you need pvp gear join a pvp guild simple as that...

Depends how much effort you put into them, with a good guild they won't be that hard, but the only one I think that will hold you back is killing 1,000 dragons which isn't that hard just time consuming, fairly easy if you killed alot back in Mod 5-6.

Then again you might be able to bypass it with other achievements

I think sloth should seriously just quit. You cannot judge a game before end game and time after time it's complaint after complaint about the game with no clear cut idea of self progression. I hope you never play another MMo or RPg again. Your heart may not take the commitment.

Honestly, I don't think it's that he(she) cares, since I'm sure they don't, it's most likely that they are just tired of seeing you "complain" about one thing after another. To their point, why would you want to keep playing if you choose to not go as far as you can? Staying at lvl60 is the new staying at lvl50. You say you don't have time to go to lvl70, and yet you went from lvl1-lvl60. Then complain that there is nothing for you to do.....that's because the game has been leveled up to lvl70 and you need to level up. That's just my two cents, take it or leave it. It matters not to me.

Disclaimer: It is true that I have some strong opinions on the game, and also true that I personally do not play the game anymore after the C-Ward Fiasco. But I still stay in the loop since my gf plays, and I keep her up to speed. Just throwing that out there before someone tries to come at me about commenting in the forum when I don't even play anymore.

Your statement implies that PvP is the only reason people play Neverwinter, and while that might be your reason for doing so, it isn't everyone's. This thread's OP asked why the game is played. My post is a response to that.

I have a different reason for playing Neverwinter than you do. So your three-option offering really doesn't apply.
