Vote to kick abuse

So I'm fresh level 70 and joining the skirmish one called dwarf something so I can get gear...

So far I get kicked 100% of the time for no reason at all... how am I suppose to get gear if no one let me play?

I'm a level 70 paladin I maybe a new player to neverwinter but not to mmos...

Also no guilds will let me join as I don't have 2k+ gear score and i don't have 100s diamonds to pay them to let me join...

Seems no one wants new people to play this and everyone is a bunch of A hats...

Been a week of being vote kicked constantly and it's making me want to quit

Look up The Death Squad... always running things and everyone jumps to help people gear up..

Run with a group. Join a guild that doesn't require you to pay, there are many out there. Or if you are just going for gear you should go for dungeons. If you have problems with that, you can also do Demonic HEs and get seals that way.

This game has an elitism problem. Many people don't work as a team and have a hard time clearing content, so they assume that if your IL isn't x then you can't do this. They are wrong, but there are many of them.

had the same problem on t 1 dungeons like lostmouth when i first started. try running shores of turin for now, people dont usually kick anyone out of that and you can at least get some of the same gear drops.
and any random group can usually take down the big guy.

ill also warn you even if your doing great and doing the bubble, and the healer is not hasting you so the bubble does not stay up, people still blame the paladin and kick them.

o yeah, if you pick up green items then groups will probably kick you too.
good luck, and i hope you have some fun.

There are plenty of good guilds out there that will take you, low item level and all. There's a guild recruitment subforum here that you can investigate that offers a decent number of choices.

Just wanted to second running Demonics. They currently have the best return on time invested for a new level 70. You get seals and Ichor that can buy decent equipment with no AD or any other currency needed, rings for salvage and AD generation, and faerzess for campaign advancement and boons. No group needed, just join a run in IWD, WoD or Dread Ring.

I second this. You might even need to dig through a few pages to find something that suits you. I did send you a private message as well.

There are some guilds that have high requirements, ours does not and several other do not either.

I'd work on getting your t1 armor 1st be anything else, then t2 and get appropriate rank 5s in your enchantment slots (take the time to open nodes) You should have at least 2 artifacts by now too from the low level artifact quest and the nine quest at level 60. Also if your a fresh 70 you have hardly any boons (if any at all). Boons are super easy to solo especially on Pld. Do the regular 3 man temple of spider and either wild hunt or dread ring skirmish for asteal diamonds. People are farming these new skirmishes for rings not trying to gear up. They have already gone through the gear progression of t1, t2, boons which is way way more important than to a fresh 70 than those rings. The new rings are icing on a cake and you have no cake yet just some flour lol. Your trying to run before you walk. Do the content in the order it's meant to be done and you'll have a much easier time. If you look under the guild recruitment forum there's also plenty of guilds for new players. Do a google search for Pld guides and use them to develop your own character and play style
Also @ fluffy people who throw around the word elitist usually have bad gear, have there character specced all goofy, and when they win are carried by one of those "elitist" players who simply realize mmo 's have simple math behind them. You need X dps within Y seconds or you fail. No amount of skill can make up lack of gear if you gear is below a certain level.
  • fluffy6977fluffy6977 Member Posts: 291 Arc User
Thorn, you're cute. If you want to get into it I suggest you look up what dps means, saying you need x dps in y seconds is redundant and shows you have a lack of understanding into even the terminology, let alone the applications.

Since im not talking abput skill but kore about proper feat builds and power synergies across classes, I suggest you do some research on buffing and debuffing party composition. As long as a toon has proper resistance ignore the rest of the stats can be boosted well beyond item level by another well built toon in party, regardless of item level. Makes it pretty easy to beat anything at the suggested item level if you get the party composition right. Remember, you are playing a game based on parties.

Yeah except the underdark skirmishes don't have a minimum IL requirement. Most players who are below 1.8k IL when they hit L70 have green/blue artifacts (usually including the Catalogue...) rank 5 enchantments, no boons, no understanding of companions etc - i.e. their stats suck. When their stats suck that much at 70 it's reasonable to assume their build probably does too.

People kick low IL's for one reason - they want to get gold. Yes it's selfish, but so is taking a completely undergeared character into a group event where they add nothing & instead detract from the overall effort.

Yes, IL does not cover understanding your class/build & how it should interact with others, but if a player understands the game well enough to understand their class & build then they will also have the right gear choices & in such cases, a set of T1 gear etc waiting for them when they reach 70.

First of all, there is plenty of Guild that accept lev 70 without 2.5 IS. Look for one on Facebook, sure you will find. Pally are also a good investement as in time everybody will want you lol. Secondly, if a guild ask for a buy in donation of 50 000 or whatever, DON'T. Most guild ask for daily donations like 3 to 5K, but big buy in are not worth it, unless you join LGPG or any big budget guild that will truly make that initial donation worth.

Now, to get geared up, i recommand you do as people said HE. There is tons of people farming them, so it shouldn't be a problem. Get the seals then get T1 gear. Focuss on your boons as well. Do not go to the new skirmishes as long as you are not properly geared. People do want gold either for achievement or items reward. Pally are not even nessessary in those, so even a high lev pally is more of a burden than a blessing. Not the same for t1 and t2 tough haha. But people will not kick you once properly geared, even as pally. But as a very low level character, i can understand they do.

One thing for sure, do not hesitate to ask question, we can help you. The good things about underdark is now there is many ways to get seals, diamonds etc and getting geared.
  • shamrok#5900 shamrok Member Posts: 56 Arc User
You might want to check the guild recruitment section of the forum, WOD demonic HEs are another place to get seals for better gear and ad from salvaging the random ring rewards
  • firepats12#3687 firepats12 Member Posts: 264 Arc User
I know that when someone I know runs the new skirms or anything really, she does not bother kicking someone who is completely under geared....she just leaves. In my opinion no one under 2k should be queuing for either one of the new skirms, it just makes it difficult for the others to obtain GOLD rank (not to mention the posted buggy nature of Throne of Dwarven Gods).

So in response to you OP, I would suggest making a group beforehand. It could be with guild members or just randoms. But if you make a group beforehand then you are not gonna get kicked. Also, you really should at least get your T1 Alliance gear (blue) before attempting to do the new skirms, you don't have to but it will make it easier for you and most importantly easier for your group.

They're is no point of a fresh 70 running these two skirmishes since the only reward you'll get is rings that you shouldn't wear unless you have the stats to cover what you'll lose from a normal ring so I recommend you go do a T1 dungeon and get some decent gear, rack up salvage and wait for 2x ad and salvage it. Don't Salvage on you Main toon, you'll get it all from doing +2 dungeons and +2 Skrimishes and your daily pvp. These skirmishes are more appointed toward end game playes than new fresh players you must understand this. :p

Hmmmm how strange, I actually have not seen anyone get kicked from a PUG for a long time, the only time I see it is if someone has just stopped playing.

Agreed, must be groups of fully new players, "noobs" that actually need to rely on the pally to survive, no? If not I really don't know because I q solo for Madness all the time and Never drop below full hp, unless unstoppable bugs out and I need to get rid of my current temp. :p

People who kick players because 'low level' are funny. I've partied with players with IL undr 1800 into val and managed to do fine.

Also, crying because a bubble pally doesn't babysit you 100% of the time means the player crying has a weak toon too since any decently geared player should be able to survive at least a few attacks. Also, kiicking a bubble pally because the bubble isn't up is silly since the bubble isn't permenant (except super high levels) plus sometimes the haste priest doesn't get casting haste only works if you get the pally with it too. L0L

As for being kicked, it's only happened twice for butthurt reasons. Hell, we actually defeated Epic Spider and I got kicked right after (I didn't know that was possible) because the teammates were butthurt they were running ahead and dying. of course, we'd never make it through without the bubble.

A lot of good advcie in this thread, though. Don't worry about the scum. Just play. You'll find some good groups and a guild eventually.

Bubble pally is a touchy subject. Many players loathe them but also desperately need them to do anything. Haha. I think the new underdark stuff is designed that the pally isn't the most important - DPS is. I've never been kicked out of them though.

    Have fun. :)

Maybe you get kicked for preventing the team from completing the skirmish? In throne of the dwarven gods there's a stage where you have to use the big collosses to break up the doors and free the prisoners. If you kill those or aim them somewhere at a wall, it's pretty much clear that you will get kicked
  • destrowoddestrowod Member Posts: 484 Arc User
Kuero... lol, that variant of the skirmish is broken as hell, no matter if you aim them perfectly, its impossible to get gold. All you can do is hope to get gold and gold for phase 2 and 3 and hope the game likes you and randomly give you a gold overall... Yes i do say randomly cause i saw a screenshot of a bronze phase 1 get a gold overall while i got a silver overall with a silver phase 1...

Check out my old Guild... Guardian's of the Whispering Eye, they even have their own website http://gotwe.boards.net/

They specialise in helping new players through content to get their gear etc. I would suggest maybe contact them and I`m sure they would be pleased to let your know if they have places spare. I was in that Guild a couple of days after it started and they are a great group of people.

I purely left to play with existing friends on my friend list and to progress and make new friends.

You should be running epic lair of lostmauth to get your blue gear and increase your item level, there are many guilds that accept players with no donation such as the guild I am in (Mystic Dawn). The requirements for us is that you are looking for an 'active' guild. We ignore those that type "looking for guild that has".... boons, dragon runs, armour etc.
Once you have your blue gear then go for the T2 runs and perhaps ask in protectors, looking for group chat that you need help from a good team that can pull you through. We have taken many low geared players through dungeons using a 4 man guild team and the low geared player to help them out.

So go ahead and ask in protectors, tell ppl you are struggling for gear, ask for help through dungeons, the community may surprise you as there are many good ppl playing this game.

Healadins are cool but people want what they know. I ran my haste DC through an ETOS with 4 DPS yesterday. We had a couple of deaths on the way but beat it in very good time. Of course 3 of the DPS were very well specced/experienced (2 guys from LGPG & 1 from JHS) but all of us enjoyed the run :)

I am in love with the healadins, give me one of them instead of a bubble any day.

Example: In epic demo healadin keeps ppl healed and alive to DPS, bubble I just watch fall on its HAMSTER and respawn all the time because ppl go "oh look a bubble line, must stand in red".
