No powerpoint, why?

After long farming/grinding guess what i got... 2 freaking rank 5 enchants without a powerpoint.
How unfair is this? I made my HR in mod6 and only got 2 powerpoints and hoped i would get one again but seems i was unlucky this time.

Why can't we buy powerpoints with zen? Why do i have to grind for another freaking 1,784,580 XP and hope i get a powerpoint ?

Same here. Rolled over today and got 3 rank 5 enchants; no power point. Got 'em on the two previous rollovers, though; hope I can get one with the next.

I've leveled 4 times since 70 and no power points. Fortunately, I have had the same toon since day one so I had plenty before mod 6. Sucks for new players big time!

Well honestly you don't need them once you hit lvl70. Nothing you need to solo requires all your powers to be rank 4. And everything else you run, you have a group. So Power Point are just little cherries on top, and not really needed.

I believe there's a limit on the number you can get. I've noticed mine get a few after reaching 70 then they dry up - I've seen that on 3 characters.

Typical that they can't just put a notice on the skills screen saying "you have earned X of a max of Y" nooo that would be useful and stop people from playing "guess what we did here".

They come in pretty handy. For instance, 10%+ on your main at-will is better than a 400-point boon even though the boon benefits all powers.

Not entirely true.

Level 70 unlocks rank 4 slots in your Powers. And as you are forced to use them all up to that point, you need them for those.

I mean, who DOESN'T want to boost up their frequently used powers.....

I received my first power point since the drop of MOD 6. This was my 6th chance at a power point and finally got one, along with a black opal. I had almost given up hope.

Exactly same for me, 4 times almost 12mil exp and for my trouble 3 Peridots and a Flawless Saphire. Really poor and I made a thread about it, which got derailed and then closed

No offence but this is an utterly silly comment... Maybe you don't need the Power Points but I bet you are in the minority.

The Rank 4 of each skill is a massive boost to some skills. Some have their damage increased by 10%, some decrease cool-down times massively, some increase buff/debuff times etc etc. They are a huge boon to players who study the numbers and want to make their character the best they possibly can.

The complete lack of Power Points, for a lot of people, for so much work/exp just needs to be looked at.

My point was simply that at this point in the game almost everything you need to do requires a group. So with 4 other players all with even rank 3 on their powers, you can and will still defeat everything you need to (as long as your actual stats are not crazy low).

To go further: On my HR, IL 2.8 with 60%RI, 13kpower, 7k crit, and so on(Not the best stats, but getting there). I only have 4points in one power, Seismic Shot. But being in my guild group I don't need all my powers at 4points because we play off of eachother. None of us have more than 2 powers with 4points and we can still run ALL dungeons without any "cheese" (I.E. Double bubble n haste, dual devotion pally, GF+Bubble) none of that.

So I was not saying that it is wrong to want 4points, only that you do not NEED 4points to do anything in game.

Following your argument we only need 1 point in each skill yeah? After all, each point only adds 10-15% and who needs that, right?

The OP is about why players are not getting a power point when rolling over and your replies are essentially trolling, trying to negate the OPs purpose by going 'bleh, bleh, dont need that, load of rubbish, why are u complaining, go join a good guild' etc.

That is not helpful, informative or positive.

I leveled up today with a lvl 70 character and consier myself to be lucky because I got a power point. They definately drop alot less often than they used to, but they do still drop in the experience awards. Hang in there and keep plugging away and eventually you will get one.

Sorry but not good advice... We should not have to "hang in there" for a powerpoint.... Do you think after almost 12million YES 12 MILLION exp that no extra power points is good for the gamer??

If I had started playing on the latest mod and discovered this I may have quit by now.

Got 93 power points. Distributed so many points that i got my usefull skills on 4. Still 12 Points left. Dunno why you think you need all skills on 4. No class need more than 2 class featuers, 2 at wills, 3 encounters and 2 dailies. Ok. some classes have to change some skills if they need aoe or single dps. But how much points do you need for them?
You dont get one "superduper one shot all mobs/bosses in dungeon if you enter it" skill, if you got all skills on 4.
My point is:
Yes..its really anoying if you grind and grind and you get 2 x Rank 5 enchants, or a dumb saphir, or some ads. Ofc i prefare a power point. But do you really need it? Really?
For me a power point more is just nice to have. Thats all. Nothing more.

Pointless point is pointless. End of the day, after two weeks getting a couple Augs is beyond frustrating. Particularly if you haven't been playing since the first mod. Also, think of the soloists who don't have a guild to farm with. To them a power point may be their biggest upgrade of the month. Remember it's a game which allows to many play styles. Simply because they don't mean much do you doesn't mean that applies to everyone.

You play the game and you level your toon to 70. Correct?
After reachin level 70 you got enough power points to play your toon. Correct?
After reachin level 70 you try to get your gear. Correct?
So every power point after reachin level 70 is nice to have, but not a must have. Correct?
Dont understand why some one complains about a free award for makin quests after reachin level 70....

Two weeks of grinding hampster wheel quests every day, particularly because all of your boons are finished, simply because killing mobs is worthless when it comes to gain in Xp..doesn't sound free to me. Played at least a few hours since April here, every day, with a few exceptions for work trips. Due to a respec despite all that play time I'm still two power points short on my bread and butter spells. I'm not into pvp, but my guild is and occasionally I go along on a run. Those spells are all at two power points.

See my above point about different play styles and needing progression paths. Also, my time isn't free..grinding these silly quests for a month with no power points doesn't make me spend money on the game. Pretty much the opposite. It's great you got yours, and that you have an opinion..but really you sound like a repub who sent their kid to country day, prep, then Ivy and is railing against public education funding. It's just lame.

I have 87 points (HR) and I have 7 I am not using. I don't mind waiting for a point to drop. There are many other character specifics deserving attention, so much to level up.

I had a guildy receive a point this past Saturday. He has been waiting since the drop.

This is a new Mod peeps. Just because points rained on you last mod does not mean they should now. The wonderful word "Chance" applies going forward.

This seems to be a common forum thing world, of games, wide. I have my cake so anyone else who wants cake can go cake themselves! I don't get it. moar is good. it's good for everyone. Why would you argue for less? Especially when the standard was for more prior? I don't see the logic. I guess it must be the special snowflake syndrome. I got mine. Guess you'll just have to drool in my general direction...

you play the game you deserve your reward. You can sit on your reward and go meh, or you can go YAY! REWARD!!! But it should still be a reward for doing the multi million that would have been a level. At level 70 3 level 5's or a peridot is a slap in the face. the powerpoint should be a given along WITH some reasonable gift. at least a level 6 for goodness sakes. LOL.

they added new content and it's not usable content. IMHO that looks more like a bug than anything else.

For what it's worth, it happened to me too and it was very disappointing, but coming from years of old school AD&D, I kind of accept that every d20 roll has the risk of landing on 1. It's part of the game, right?

No not when you obtain almost 10million exp and after the imaginary roll of that D20... I roll a 1 for lowest reward (Peridot) then a 1 for no powerpoint... That is after almost 2 million... so next 2mil I roll a 1 and a 1, then next I roll a 1 then maybe a 2 for a Flawless Saphire.... Next I roll a 1 and a 1 and lastly I just rolled a 1 and a 1.

That is what is feels like unfortunately when you get 500 Refinement points for 2million exp x by 4, and then an extra 5000 Refinement Points for another 2mil exp.

Honestly it just sounds like you are a bit weak, and think that that 1 more Power Point in a skill will help you...it won't. But I am not going to argue with you. I run with groups so I can't tell any sort of significant change in damage or anything from my powers with 3 points and my powers with 4. If you truly believe you 'need' 4 points in all your powers to be good, then you are mistaken or you just don't know how to play your class.

As someone else said, is it a bit annoying to go through millions of XP to only get a peridot? Yes, of course it is. But what I have been saying is that it is not needed, and when you do get it, it is very nice. Its just like the lockboxes, do you need anything from them? No. But is it nice when you get that legendary mount? Yes, of course.

Also, you are coming off as if you are actually making an effort to grind grind grind levels past lvl70. Why? I know no one who even looks at their XP bar once they hit lvl70. Why not just play the game and stop worrying about a silly power point, if the devs thought you needed 4 points in every power they would have implemented that into the game, but they didn't, so you don't need 4 points in every power.

It IS implemented; that's why after hitting level 70 the fourth rank is enabled on all powers and that's why you have the chance to get a power point on further rollovers.

Half of my current guild has not even touched Sharandar or Dread Ring, so not everybody cares about boons.

By Implemented I mean getting one every time like you did whilst leveling from 1-70. So its NOT implemented where you NEED 4 power points.

If this is aimed at me go and check out the HR xbox forum, I think I know how to play my class lol. I already have every power I want at 4 points and a few more, as I have been playing the game from near the start on X1.

I am literally talking from a new player perspective, the big draw for a lot of people (especially in RPG`s) is that at max level is you can work on getting powers to rank 4 or what-ever mechanic is implemented. But currently power points are too rare for the amount of exp you need to generate the chance, it used to be ok as the low chance was fine as the amount of exp you needed to trigger the bonus was much smaller.

For a massive amount of people maxing out a character on an RPG is one of the big draws in an RPG in the 1st place. For the last 3 exp bonuses on my 1st Alt she has not received a power point so that's 3 times since level 70 = 6mil exp!, I`m not bothered as its an Alt but if I was a new player I`d be a bit annoyed.

Also of course I am grinding once I hit 70... that's when the game really opens up, my question to you is why would you not be grinding? Whether grinding for seals, marks, runes, gold, equipment, salvage, levels, rewards, dailies, weeklies, AD, The Whole Game etc etc its all grinding and part of the fun!
