IMO there isn't really a role that SW is superior to other classes at, but it is fun to run really fast.
PVP = lolset even for warlock
I like playing warlock, but its obviously that this class has a weakness since you got no Dodge
On pug level no Problem
Against skilled player you lose in most cases if you are not protected by a DC or OP because:
1.Hunter disables you, simply that way, in case its a bad hunter you kill him
I faced skilled 2.5HR and even undergeared that class can perform very well , no matter what other will tell about Hunter, its a powerfull class in case you know your skills
2. GF twoshots you in seconds anvil+ one encounter = dead
3. TR doesn't even have to show up...1button
HAMSTER Execusion (even shadow schitting doesn't help)
So if you face a build with enough power he will kill you 100% success garanty
4. GWF bursts you in short time except you can outran and kite him
But lots if GWF are very mobile even more than a warlock and can refill stamina in few seconds...runner builds i talk if
5. DC unkillable for warlock because no knock back out of eAS comfortzone
6. OP.....on pug level you can handle him sometimes due to bugged lolset and endless damageslopes, but a BIS bubbladin no way
If you can play in a good team with support from other classes i think it could work , because your damage is very high and in times of "immortality" in PVP this is the only advantage warlock has got
Basically, you can Curse+Hardar Grasp, EB while enemy is controlled and get 1-2 stacks of soul sparks ready (couple of EB rotations). Then mix shadow slip and EB, it shouldn't take long before you are at 5 stacks.
However, crit is not hard to build up. My 2.2k SW is already at 34% crit chance which is enough to have a decent spark generation, mixed with the above mechanic.
Bunnyhopping vs melee enemies help you save stamina, expecially with GWFs.
One small trick: before joining a match, attack a dummy or something. Get to full sparks and keep them up until you are teleported to PvP arena. Don't know if WAI or a bug, but your sparks stay. Not glowing, but they are all there and when you deal the first curse+EB attack, they light all up and you are instantly at full sparks, ready to rock.
Else, just start from behind your team and DPS while building sparks, then rush on the node once you can reliably self-heal, or you are a free kill.
Quallo: vs GWF, try this--->they are very mobile but have to stop moving to SS/IBS (BF builds). So let them get to you, and move away only when they stop to attack. If you're out of stamina, keep bunnyhopping away/ around cause it doesn't allow them to land all the SS hits and makes it hard to land IBS as well. Mix bunnyhopping and shadow slip when facing a GWF or TR.
When a TR is around and goes stealth wait a few seconds, stand still, then suddenly shadow slip away. Reason: 99% of TRs go stealth and come right at you to smoke bomb. They see you standing still and go straight for the smoke bomb, so doing the above makes them miss a lot. They also become visible and allow you to CC-burst them. Also keep bunnyhopping around.
Vs GFs just find some environmental obstacle and use it to kite. I kited 1 OP and 2xGFs in GG near the stairs that go underground, just mixing shadow slip, bunnyhopping and the fire beacons that are near the stairs. In the end, i killed the OP and my team passed by and cleared the GFs. All 3 guys were more geared than me. GF has shield but if they keep it up, they will never reach you through shadow slip (i'd get the stamina sharandar boon and stamina infusions on accessories), and as soon as they drop shield to run, you CC and rotate them.
Obviously, not all the above works 100% of the time, but is better than just getting facerolled.
Also, another good thing to do: target a low HP enemy and use Killing Flames on him. Spawn puppet. Then use puppet like this: bunnyhop around the puppet to mess up the enemy's aiming. Doing this you can place the puppet between you and the enemy, and they will end up targetting the puppet and wasting DPS on the poor soul. Basically, use the puppet as a shield.
Unfortunately, crappy stamina drain overloads disrupt any possible SW tactic, allowing the enemies to get rid of one of the main SW assets: mobility. Quite lame.
Löl ,SW on xBox-one is Currently Burning anyone with massive Dot's dmg, debuffs hehe
even a Pala have no Chance vs SW löl
And with current stamina drains that are not on XBox, a SW can't even kite much. Only option is to use stamina drains yourself and rotate first.
Geared paladins can tank everything with bubble, even SW creeping death.
Because you have to take in account that most of the experienced player are on PC not on Xbox
Version and probably balancing is different
They did not want to make same mistakes again, so they overpowered SW on Xbox
That would be the typical crypti.c solution
The Moment they would unite Xbox and PC you will feel the difference in no time
Should be reworked to be more usefull but less iritating.
.Suicide Squad.
That is a huge problem in my book, they lowered our damage by 40% based on set bonuses and never added any damage to compensate for the health boost we got on gear in Mod 6.
If you out gear the people you are fighting and know what you are doing, you will look like a God in PvP
In comparison to my other toons with same Item level (GWF and TR) I usually leave with 22 kills and 1 or 2 deaths. With my SW that's cut in half with a higher death count.

From SW side,., u must have nerves of steel or don't have them at all.. Casting speed killing SW in most points.. U start casting and bang CW blink near u and manage cast any encounters while u still try finish to cast one..... :P
Whana be good in pvp, learn how to abuse area. and be creative bast@rd.

The extremely slow animations mean you can't move when casting most stuff, which is a pain for PVP. Also the Avalanche passive boon is just a joke, it kills me all the time and it seems it'll never get fixed. Most classes can kill you regardless though if you're on your own.
Shadow walk seems bugged. It doesn't guarantee CC immunity (I've often been rooted while in it), and as an extremely squishy class with basically no CC yourself, stamina is always a problem even without stamina drain.
