You know, I do not like to complain much about free to play games. Lets face it though. The server issues have always been a big problem. They were the main reason I left the game in the first place. I decided to come back to all the new content thinking after all this time, things would be different. They seem far worse though.
I am on the East Coast (Michigan to be more precise) and server lag and rubber-banding have always been a main concern with this game. My latency is good (around 50 - 80) and have a decent connection through Comcast (believe it or not lol) Download 30mbps/ Upload 6mbps. Every other MMO/Online game I play I never have any issues with connection, until I load up Neverwinter. Quite often I will get a message "Server response Lost" and a counter that will run for up to two minutes untill I get a response back and can do anything. It will happen concurrently when it does making the game complately unplayable.
I don't think Cryptic is to blame here though. I am no server expert, but you guys really need to look into adding more power in this area or better maintenance. I have a feeling though that Perfect World is the one holding Cryptic back on what they can and cant do to save money.
I know I haven't spent a lot on this game ($20 here and there) but when you have so much lag and rubber-banding going on, since beta, and still going on today, you start to wonder if spending any money on this game is worth it in the long run.
I really enjoy the game (when I can play) and really hope you guys can do something about these server issues. I wouldn't mind dropping more money into this game. I would really like to know where the money from the cash shop is really going towards? I would hope to think you are trying to fix these issues and bugs rather then constantly releasing new content that could be adding to the problem.
I would really hate to see this game go under because of ignored issues that really take its toll on players after awhile. In the long run whats worth more? Spending the money to fix these issues and keeping a good player base? Or just scraping every cent you can get and ignoring your player base? In the long run, if you want to keep the cash flow coming, you best fix the issues we post here and constantly complain about.
Not sure what else to say here. And yes I have tried the tweaks and countless guides on the forum and other websites to try and improve my problem.
I wish you guys luck though and hope this does not go ignored (although my hopes are not high).
Yeah.. i feel the same way.. Every other game of any other company i have no issues of lag, even while downloading or watching streams.. i can play MMOs just fine. in any other company.. but when it comes to PWE.. ohboy.. logging without dcing is already a huge achievment... Neverwinter is just another example of a great game.. hosted by a reaaally bad company that doesn't really care for anything other than saving money for themselves.. lol
This is actually Cryptic's fault, so far as I can tell - the server giving everyone trouble [198.49.243.253] is owned by Cryptic Studios.
Solving the issue on that hop will not solve the problem addressed by the 3d starter.
When Mod 6 became live, a lot of users started reporting "server not responding" issues. I didn't see that a single time before mod 6. Crashes yes, lag in Tiamat runs yes... But Server not responding? Never. And mine is a crappy connection from Cox
Mod 6 introduced a lot of modifications at all levels. In my opinion, it also introduced a bug that is causing server and client to go out of sync. Not just a simple case of packet loss and server not getting back.
