A day in an utterly bugged game

Hi all!

This won't be a post as usual, about the average bugs.

This is my frustration about an utterly broken game and the future as Rob Overmeyer said in a recent interview on onrpg.com.

So, the lead producer had issued, they don't plan any kind of bug fixing for this game in the near future. It is broken BETA, but it was fun with all the dungeons until Mod 5. Some parts beyond repair since Mod 6 and what we get now, let's wait another 6 months or so and hope, but where and how long?

Sorry for the long prolog, but i am mad beyond repair too LOL. I tried to do a simple artifact upgrade, had to burn 65 (!), yes 65 wards for a legendary artifact. I had to buy the wards!

Before it, i played SCA on the Gteway, i was a bit lucky, since i never won anything, now i did, twice, my loot didn't appear in my bag. Fine...

I posted a Greater Mark of Power from my GF to my CW and guess what, the letter never came on the other side.

Run a dungeon, got pitiful 460 AD for second run. I mean what the heck?

Now , where should i turn to, this is abnormal beyond any decent words. AD is very hard to come by and it is not normal, that a simple upgrade swallows 65 wards, now a stack of 10 wards is around ca. 46k AD. For me it is big chunk of AD, cause i play legit, no exploits, no grey zone shortcuts, but yeah i am a fool, i should have exploited like a big part of the community and sit now on millions of Ad and not brake my head about such pitiful thing slike wards. Honesty doesn't pay off in this game, not a drop.

I have supported this game until about Mod 6 and a little for VIP even after it, but what does Cryptic think, how many times will a fool like me pay a cent for such a mess in the future? They can go and guess. What do they think, how many of us, even long time players, who see their beloved game go down the drain tell anyone to come and play. This game is now so broken in every part, that my RL friends, who have all left the game think i am an idiot (maybe they are right) cause i still play a game in this broken and lackluster state and as it seems Mod 8 will be a recycled GauntlGrym with a one room skirmish again. Did this take 6 months to do, oh my god.

Now i am not bashing anyone, but i would really love to see a statistic, how many hours do the Devs and suits play their own game? The result would be shocking i guess. Cause if they would play it actually and not with Dev magic, i would bet my pants on it, it wouldn't be in such a mess.

I would guess lack of bag space is the reason to be upgrading equipment right now, even with the upcoming 2x rp weekend. The only thing I am keeping for it, due to that very issue, are the resonance stones I am getting on my characters that do not have an artifact equipment equipped.

During the CTA event I made two rank 9s with four wards. Then it ate thirty when I was getting it to rank 10 and I gave up and used a coal ward I had. Then I got two superior marks out of refiner's caches and got it to rank 11 without any wards.

Sometimes you're lucky sometimes you're unlucky. That's how RNG is in all games especially when you have low success rates like in NW.

I don't know what to say about the mail issue because I've never had it happen, and I've gone through thousands of mails running stuff between my leadership characters.

Dungeon just sounds like you had already done your runs and forgot about it.

I have upgraded it now, cause it was 1 rank short of becoming legendary and i did it cause i bought the GMoPs now to do it on several toons, not did it from scratch.

I had many many times getting items lost in mail or i bought 3 times ZEN with RL via Paypal and never got it on my account, cause Cryptic swallowed it.

I had since beginning on my GF and sometimes even now on other toons on my account Wi Flag issues.

Since a while i make screenshots of everything, but who shall i send it?! CS is as useless as it can be, shall i talk to a machine or get dumb automated responses, no thanks, just wasting my time.

And dear @urabask no matter how much of a big fanboy you are, i am not an idiot, nor am i so old, that i forget to count till 2. It was my 2nd run, basta.

Sad thing in this game is, that if you are a fanboy RNG will favor you, if you are or were a bit critical here on Forums, your RNG will suddenly drop to bellow a frog's butt in the game.

RNG is determined in this game way beyond pure luck...

You can call me tin foil hat, i don't care, i have tons of screenshot to prove my right.

99% of the time things like this are caused by user errors. If they were bugs you'd be able to reproduce them and they'd be common place. The forum would be exploding if people were losing items in the mail all the time. The more reasonable explanation is that you screwed up somehow. Ditto for the dungeon runs.

But everyone likes to think they're the special cupcake and it must be a bug because there's no way they did anything stupid.

The RNG issues are just math. Someone gets the short end of the stick. This happens in every game with any RNG whatsoever. Is this your first MMO or something?

Also, how are you going to prove that you lost your items with screenshots? You'd need videos. Time to start recording every time you use the mail because it eats all your things. :rolleyes:

Paypal issues would be a billing error which is a completely different system and frankly you could work with Paypal to resolve that.

One day this entire big lie will fall down as it already does, in Sweden they already take down DnD books from bookshelves, cause Cryptic does such a fine job, people begin to hate the DnD genre. I live in Hungary, but i can only say, my publisher friend doesn't print a piece of DnD book anymore, Cryptic has done such a fine job with this game ruining the genre.

You're just throwing a tantrum on a video game forum like a twelve year old.

If you're going to complain about bugs provide proof and steps to reproduce them. You're obviously in the right so that shouldn't be all that hard, right? Given that it basically never happens the burden of proof is on you. Otherwise it's just a lot more easy to believe that you did something stupid.

Yeah, its unlikely you will fail 65 times, but not unfeasible, its a 0.1% chance but in a group of 1000 people, on average 1 person would get the short end of this stick. Maths for the win, its entirely possible

But what is more suspicious, i am getting that crappy % since my first toon became flagged and i have a bad % in every sense in this game, so yeah it makes me think since a while.

I came here to discuss this, not to argue with some payed fanboys, like urabask.

Well yeah, but everyone assumes that it must be happening to everyone and getting rotten luck means it's rigged. Same thing happens on the Hearthstone forums e.g. "omg I opened 200 packs and got no legendaries this is rigged" then when they open four legendaries in one pack everything is right in the world.

So link to the mail bug? Something that obvious should have been posted a while ago?

The only ones that I can find are one where deleting a mail deleted the mail after it and one where items disappear if you're over the attachment limit ( but they still show up in the gateway). Both of those are two years old though (and when I try to send items when I'm over the attachment limit it won't let me).

Shouldn't be about QAing for them so much as helping yourself and others out. Ranting about it gets no one anywhere.

Yes, but you stated two specific "bugs" in this thread. I'm not defending them just asking that you bother proving that these bus exist. No need to play fearmonger over something as important as the mail system if you have no proof.

If all you wanted to do was complain about bugs then you didn't have to be as specific. 'Course then we could've just posted captain obvious memes.

Never ever lost anything in the mail, mailing p vorp and pure PF and other enchants every day, don't make me afraid ..
But Matthias tbh. there really is no conspiracy against you, you had bad luck with this fkn rng , i hate it myself
But being very critical in forum getting several posts deleted, I do know why btw., I never thought about getting focussed by this company
I started this game too late to have seen the good old days, all I see is failure, thats the way things go if a developer is not in touch with the community and ignorant in a never experienced way i saw before

@urabask the list about mail bugs is quite long so as i suggested you should search by yourself.
The bug was introduced in 2013, and never fixed since then.

The new mail has attachments with no warning or confirmation dialogue about deleting attachments bug

This thread makes Mt. Hotenow look like the frigid plains of Icewind Dale. We understand you're frustrated, but flaming and trolling each other isn't going to make any of those bugs go away. Nor is hurdling insults a the devs a good way to get them to respond. This thread isn't going anywhere productive.
