Did anybody notice ANY changes after this big announced... "Network maintenance" for which they took down the servers for over 12hrs.. yadayadayada..
I still have YET to find a SINGLE improvement in ANY of the games connectivity or lag issues i previously had..
the games are basically the same laggy bs.. that cannot be played unless i connect during times when nobody else plays..

Did anybody have any improvements with this "maintenance"??

No. Didn't notice anything. Dread Ring still has this ridicilous lag. Go to your loot, wait one or two seconds and pick it up.

...maybe one of the watchmen patrolling the server hall, after half a year of complaining about that ever-sparking power line (think Doom3 atmosphere), decided to notify workplace safety authorities or the fire police, and they had to let an electrician in to fix it?

Seemed like it was mostly for Arc so not really sure why people were expecting it to fix problems with the game servers.

I've noticed an huge increase in rubberbanding everywhere, that's about it.

I also completely failed to notice any improvement in my car's gas mileage or its number of cup holders after they repaved the street on which I live the other day. To whom do I complain?

They never specified what issues they were attempting to address with the maintenance. They never came out and said "hey, this is to fix the lag." Not even us moderators know what they did that day, though some clues point to the idea that maybe they changed their ISP, as doing a tracert doesn't go through Cogent anymore.
My opinions are my own. I do not work for PWE or Cryptic. - Forum Rules - Protector's Enclave Discord - I play on Xbox
Any of my comments not posted in orange are based on my own personal opinion and not official.
Any messages written in orange are official moderation messages. Signature images are now fixed!

Lmao.. this is a completely poorly made attempt of an analogy.. if they revamp the street(network), you could notice improvements on, maybe, less holes in the street or if they widen it, less traffic problem(lag?).. but you don't notice changes in your car(computer).. Try again..

Uhmm well, "making Networking improvements in our platform" is sort of a very specific wording.. and if nobody notices any changes/improvements, kinda means that they didn't do anything meaningful..

I was really thinking they'd do what other companies did, switch the servers to chicago(better connection quality).. and fix all the lags problems.. but i guess they don't care as much about it.

they dont tell us anything. and 12 hours for a new circuit to be put in is beyond ridiculous. you shouldn't even have to take the network offline to do that. that's what hsrp and bgp are for. if they need help i know several interns in the bay area that could do that in their sleep and would do it for free to pad their resume.

Anytime anyone ever complained about lag since the game launched, we'd always be told 'it's not Cryptic's problem, Cryptic has no control over it, it's a problem on your side, it's because you're going through Cogent'.

I wasted five million AD promoting the Foundry.

Yes, but what if the players cant control where their connection goes trough?? if the player its from outside the US for example..
PWe could fix it.. if they switch their connection, just like other game companies did.. this Cogent problem affects a lot of game platforms.. the difference is.. the other companies actually care about their player base and do something about it..!!

Just ONCE I would like to see a moderator say "I feel your pain" Instead of captain obvious statements. We all know that they never said this would resolve anything.

What is a pure fact is the game as is is a random LAGfest daily. We are sick of the Infrastructure it sucks.

Every since XBOX was introduced it has sucked and it seems like the PC crowd that has been here supporting the game from DAY1 are now treated like the minority Red-Headed step-children Cryptic no longer feels like supporting!

Netgraph shows CONSTANT lag spikes. Last night was attrocious from about 8-Midnight, huge waves of lag spikes.

And I know what you will say.... "Works for me...." "It's just fine must be your network/ISP."

Paying customers get sick of products that get worse and wonder "Where is my money being spent exactly???"

The upgrades were probably to take credit card payments more efficiently...

Closing this thread as there is a new thread on the issue (and there were others before the new threads were made too) and threads like this with no technical information that are all bashing and ranting do no good. If that thread isn't relate-able to your issue, then check out the other sticky in the Tech forum and post or file a support ticket accordingly. There's no need to post threads elsewhere.
