New 70 gear questions

So I've done some searches and can't really find any good listing of best in slot gear. I see people refer to "BiS" all the time, but I don't actually know what gear that means.

Here's my story: I just hit 70, after returning to the game after a long break (meaning, i quit before even mod 2 came out) I PvE. I dislike PvP. Can someone please point me in the direction of best in slot gearing for PvE TR? I know there are issues with the TR in pve. That's not what this thread is about. There are so many confusing gear choices out there for someone who stopped playing before any of the campaigns or anything came out.

I know about the lostmauth set, and of course the gemmed pants and shirts, but what about the rest? good sets?

Best in Slot for any class would currently be the Elemental Dragonflight armor set. You have to get the Dragonflight set first (be in a high level guild) and then upgrade it with Black Ice Shaping.

hmm, guess I should amend my question...how about "second best in slot"? LOL, i'm in a small guild that's basically a family, and really don't have realistic access to the dragonflight gear.

Any of the elemental armor, so basically get tier 2 and then upgrade it. I don't play a TR, so I don't know if you would want Assault or Ward, but I'm going to assume Assault.

I also came back to NW after an extended break to mod 6 and was totally lost. To get this gear, you would need to run T2 epic dungeons(2000+ item level dungs) and collect Seal of the protector, trade these seals at the vendor to collect item level 135 gear. The chest costs 600 seals, arms, legs and head all cost 400 seals (i think).

Work on upgrading your Icewind Dale campaige tree, it doesnt take much to unlock the craftsman to start your blackice shaping crafting. At level 5 blackice shaping, you can upgrade your 135 item level gear slightly to 137 item level with slightly increased stats.

Oh no no no no no no... No! For CWs the Dragonflight armor set actually gives you less crit and less defense than the Elven armor, even if you choose the best possible combination (Assault on head and Raid everywhere else)! They really messed up the stats on CWs' Dragonflight.

Creole has it right... there are stages of ear. For the less active and smaller guilds... Elemental will be the highest gear for a while.

Oh no, sorry but no...........no way, not in a million years for a tr. I have elemental elven as a tr and that is the BiS gear at the current moment because dragonflight, you lose crit and power and armor pen if you get it, im not saying all dragonflight gear is bad it is just bad for the trickster rogue class. Go for the Elemental elven (assault or raid depends on what u want) as for artifact set definatly lostmauth, for other rings go for one personalized either recovery or piercing depending on what you need most then use the critical strick band you get from the big he in strongholds (i forget the name) those should be your best options. Other than that you are left with artifacts, i suggest anything that gives crit or power or both. This is my opinion on what you should aim for but dont dunp EVERYTHING into this because underdark is coming soon and there should be new BiS gear for everyone with that, of course tweak as you go but this is a general tr gear suggestion, seeing as trs are kind of a glass cannon go for all dps armor and build up some defence with boons or the healing dr OR the healing sharandar one, not both......too much healing lol. i hope this helps and answers the what gear types should you look for question i tryed to be vague so you can make your own build.

Yeah, definitely wouldn't upgrade any elven armor now. Drowcraft has better stat distribution at 140 but the stats at 135 are about as dumb as the dragonflight armor.
