I play trapper SW right now in epic dungeons I use cordon and split the sky with fox for my encounters what would work in the pathfinder build to replace these. in campaigns I use cordon or constrict hindering and fox my other things are lone wolf and crushing roots . My dps is low and I play a lot of PVP the better PVPers tell me pathfinder yields better performance in DPS and Survivability. I do ok now and have done several t2 dungeons successfully with my build but Solo i am taking forever to complete things. my crit is @31% deflect at 42% and Arm pen @45% so these are fine using perfect plague fire 11k power and 4.4 k crit and about the same ArmPen
your thoughts please
thanks in advance

Basically if you want damage Stormwarden is better, Pathfinder is better in PvP though because of greater versatility and balance, and of course slasher's mark is a great single-target daily (overshadowed by disruptive shot though). Personally, I normally play a combat SW, but I recently leveled a brand-new trapper PF and put some decent gear on him, went into level 60-69 PvP as a level 66...and absolutely destroyed. First match was 17-0-10, second was 21-6-9, and my team was terrible the second game. I would highly recommend that to anyone who wants to create a strong and relatively easy to play HR. Combat will always have a special place in my heart though.

For solo PvE, I would suggest you to ditch Fox for Cordon since Cordon offers much much more DPS than Fox. Furthermore, Crushing root and Lone Wolf provide you enough survivability for PvE so using Fox is a waste.

You say 4v5 is impossible? Cool story bro.

I prefer PF for trapper in PVE. All of the SW's tools are useless for bosses, and trappers have enough AoE control to only make use of single target at-wills. Easy to keep steady DPS on a tough target with careful attack while focusing on controlling mobs surrounding it.

PF all the way for me, agree with ghoulz66. And if you play Trapper right you don't need at-wills except Careful Attack as you can endlessly rotate encounters (but Careful attack is good as it runs on his own for a long time and with one shot of Hunter's Teamwork you debuff a boss for quite some time too). In boss fights Slasher's Mark is also way better than anything SW offers.
And if you look at passives in groups most likely the best overall choice is Aspect of the Pack+Crushing Roots, except with singles bosses where Pack+Serpent is probably better than everything else anyway.

I played Ranger when there was only Stormwarden and it was fun, saying that I tried it again for a days and went back to Pathfinder. I wouldn't play SW again as PF suits my play style more.

Pathfinder, absolutely. Stormwarden does NOT do more damage (as has been proven over and over). Giving up either aspect of the serpent or crushing roots for twin blade storm would be silly. I use hinder/longstrider's/constrict for encounters. Careful attack+gushing wound is the most powerful attack we have. I wouldn't use cordon because 1) limited charges 2) devs decided that plant growth is neither weak nor strong grasping roots and therefore doesn't work with master trapper 3) long animation. I played stormwarden until almost mod 6...it really sucks by comparison with PF.

I did full respect to pathfinder and my boons to more offence than defense. The damage in Dragon flight went from 160k damage to 240k damage versus green dragon by changing boons and adding longstriders, CA and gushing combo. In dungeon runs went to CA and gushing wounds in ecc mark boss with CA at will then shoot constrict and long shot for party bonus and Stack for AOS leap in With slashers mark apply gushing wound watch damage go off like Christmas lights then do my melee encounters . other changes that made Hugh difference on off hand elemental blade changed artifact power to cruel recovery when gushing crits my hps go to max I had gotten this Idea from Sandstorm Verat it was not my own.

I will longstriders constrict switch melee apply CA /gushing wounds/ steel breeze/ plant growth
