For amour for a rogue which is better? Defense and Deflection or Defense and Life steal? plus I am sorry but I could not post this in rogue class discussion, due to my current low level.
It depends on what kind of Rogue u intend to be and Defense is also kind of irrelevant for the class. IMO, A Saboteur would see little use in Defense, since itll be Stealthed most of the time. A Scoundrel would benefit the most from a combination of Deflection and Life Steal, since the path already boost said stats. Finally, I cant really give an opinion about Executor, due to my lack of experience with the path, but id suggest the same thing as a Scoundrels choice (LS and Deflection). I hope some experienced Executor can come around with a better opinion.

Defense is for sissies. Outside of pvp a rogue with defensive stats is pointless. You won't have Agro unless your whole team wipes. That being said power crit armor pen. That's all that matters as an executioner pve rogue. In order of importance, armor pen > crit > power. This mod anyways.
Also just a heads up for soloing harder content since you can't take a hit by changing just your heroic feats and by putting 10 points on sabateur you can be a higher maintenance version of perma stealth all the while enjoying the damage of an executioner rogue.

My wife's TR focuses on pen > crit > power; then deflect > defence; however, after last mod her character became really squishy. While all of the other details mentioned in this thread are important and we really appreciate the input, we would like to know whether she should favor deflection over defence even more to improve the damage resistance.
Your defense is stealth and stun. If you're getting hit you're doing it wrong.
For PVE none of your focus should be on any defense. In dungeons enemies ignore you. If you're getting killed in solo content, stun and kill. Dodge only when needed to save stamina. You'll find soon (if you haven't already) that solo content becomes easy.
I can't really speak on pvp but i hear that stun and stealth are still the name of the game. It's kinda what we do.
Deflect>Defense Arm Pen>Power until you reach 60% resistance ignored (Max for a boss) or at least 40% RI (what the mobs have) so you're doing maximum damage with attacks.
She crits 100% when stealth so I would focus on power after arm pen to do damage once she's around 40% crit chance. Also tell her to train herself to pop stealth after the second hit of DF so the whole animation part of the attack is in stealth for more damage.
Super Saiyan God- TR Lvl 70 (PVP) Unleash The Wolves- HR Lvl 70 (PVE) <font color="Aquamarine">"Non-Pay-To-Win"</font> I hunt GWF "Magik" on sight.
Then you will take a back seat to other rogues that are doing it right
A back seat to TR's doing it right? lol Enlighten me. I clearly stated stacking critical until reaching the desired chance percentage and you're going to want at minimum 40% RI from AP for the mobs or none of your attacks are doing maximum damage. Certain bosses are at 60% DR. I said to stack AP up to the desired RI only and power after sufficient crit for PVE. If you're stacking Critical BEFORE reaching 40% RI from AP then you're wrong.

I already offered to. You'll find my arpen is at 60% and my crit is much higher than your recommended 40%. Good advice for account jusy starting. I was advising not to get so fixated on arpen that you end up in a position like i did, well over the needed min arpen with a bunch of wasted time and wasted valuable rp
He never recommended 40% crit; he recommends working on crit once RI from AP is at minimum 40%; and he is totally right, since RI is more important than crit.
If your crit chance is high and your RI is low you will be doing low damage crits, and there's no point in that.
I've tried all enchantment types in defense slots. HP (radiant) is best for my build, although there are pvp rogues who run a deflect build. I'd say, if you chose all the deflect boons, go dark, if not; radiant.

If you know something to be broken, stop using it.
Otherwise, you've got no right to be speaking of 'balance.'

And thanks for the tips, we really appreciate it.
If you insist on talking about defense, lifesteal is what you want.
We will actually focus on HP > deflect > life steal > defense as yourenext2die recommends.
Thanks.
