black screen

servers are up now (so it says) but when i log in and click play it loads the cryptic screen as usual and then the screen just goes black and the game crashes....and yes ive tried it in safe mode..

They never fixed the infinite loading loop, you think they're gonna fix this? Just goes to show how much they really care. I just wish they would hire someone that's not out of their depth.

Run the game in safe mode and type in -d3d9 to the command line to launch the game. It will take a few minutes to load, and may become unresponsive for a minute or two, but be patient, you will eventually reach the character select screen

Kata's reply is in regards to a crash. Seeing just a black screen with no error message simply means, "Have Patience, the Client is now re-initializing game assets." Basically, just wait and don't do anything. It will take longer or shorter depending on the speed and quality of one's computer.
