Material files loading

Well since patch I get to this part and NWO just stops responding. Trying to figure out if there is a way to self optimize the game files so that it works better with windows. I never had this problem till today after the servers went back up so that tells me that the new files did not play very well and may need optimized.

Any suggestions on this? Any program that can do this in a few mouse clicks?

    Also noted I did shut everything down and rebooted and watched as it consumed over 90 percent of my CPU and over 2 gigs of ram. I play other more intensive games with far better graphics that do not use NEARLY that much resources.

    I concurr, it did place my computer twice in hibernations due to over heating while trying to load charachter screen...

    Same thing with me
    Except mine says
    Material files reloaded.
    Cant get past the loading screen at all :(

    You are correct sorry I failed at that part lol but that is what it says. Maybe if enough of us post someone might come in with an answer.

    Some of us have been waiting for this fix for over 6 months. The only way it has been playable has been in safe mode or with the -d3d9 command. Not it 100% just doesnt work. Of the 8 others I know in real life that play this game, 3 of them are having the same problem. That is 4 out of 9 people.

    Mine is on the game glient, it crashes .. is this the same issue? Ive never had this issue before.
    How do you even start it in safe mode?

    Click the options menu at the top right of the launcher. There will be a box that says safe mod. Also you can enter the -d3d9 command at the bottom. This may fix it for you. But for people having this same problem from all of last mod (like me), I doubt it will help.

    Forgot to mention if you use the safe mode, do not maximize the screen until you get to the character select.

    thank you will give that a try now. I just also defraged my hard drive in hopes that would help too going to check it out and report back.

    Edit: Just tried no dice still gets stuck on materiel files reloaded. So Defrag and safe mode do not work. The only thing different was the patch and my laptop has not changed since patch other than the patch. So the patch is not playing well with windows.

    Having the material files issue as well

    Just tried everything. This sucks, nothing has changed on my laptop other than the patch. My husband is on the home PC and it is working fine. We were both looking forward to playing together.

    He uses the pc to play when home and the laptop when away for work. we switch between the two so having one not working is not good.

    Also pissy about not being able to activate my vip status with the zen we both bought today....

    Was having the same problems above but a friend gave me a tip.

    (in Safemode/FullScreen checked), leave the Loading Screen (material files loading) for 10-20mins alone.

    now i am in game.

    Hope it work out for all who tried this.

    Lol awesome will give that a try. I just upgraded to windows 10 in the hopes that MAYBE by some small chance that would work but no dice there either. This has been frustrating to say the least.

    If you are in a multi monitor environment remember to switch to single monitor that workrd for me
    There are more than BIS players in this game
    RIP Real Tiamat, RIP Real Demogorgon RIP real Temple of the spider. Why remove non bis content to give to bis players ????
    FORCING the majority of your player base to play 4 mod old dungeons and trial will have a bad result on player base
    Changes are getting so bad i would rather prefer no new changes (RIP ICE FISHING in winter fest)

    Okay report back time on the new 20 minute test. It does work. Start it up and do other things check back in 20 minutes and bam you have a log in screen. You log in again and takes you right to your chars. Select char and you are in. It is a cruddy work around but hey we are not getting any official support so this is what we got.

    Worked just fine for me. So far From waht I can tell It is a Driver issuse at the dev end of the game. I am in Windows 8.1 64 bit 16 GB Ram. My graphic card is up to date and my drivers are as far as I know, I will re-check my drivers and follow up

    Welllllll that temp fix was short lived been waiting for 2 hours now and it has not recovered. Still not responding on that same screen. Still no official response so guess that are not wanting our money since it is so many of us having the exact same issue.

    I can log in on my desktop, but I have the Material Files Loading issue on my Windows 8 laptop and nothing works since Strongholds. Not Safe Mode, not -d393, not waiting. It just doesn't work at all. With so many people having this same problem, why has it not been fixed yet??

    Because it takes time. Blizzard had a similar problem during WotLK where certain macs were not able to log in without crashing. It still took them one week to fix it, and that was in a subscription game where people pay to be able to log in. Give them a week before getting the pitchforcks.

    Lol when looking at some blizzard fails this does seem minor. Specially WOTLK.
    1. MAJOR quest for the Horde was to be fixed for most of the expansion.
    2. Mac Bug
    3. Random banning of players using WINE who did nothing wrong. This still happens btw today. They never fixed that bug. As WINE sometime triggers there hack detection.
    4. EXTREME downtime after promised they where getting a handle on downtime and was going to start getting downtimes down to 10 minutes.

    So yeah it is all good. Least I am not paying them monthly to be treated like <font color="orange">HAMSTER</font> and ignored like with bliz.

    Have you tried suspending/pausing your antivirus/firewall maybe it is blocking a port
    There are more than BIS players in this game
