Module 9 Proposal: Kara Tur

Most folks these days aren't familiar with Kara Tur, since it's been more or less marginalized in the Forgotten Realms since 2E. But - Cryptic - if you can manage to avoid being an advertising channel for WotC and instead embrace your parent company's heritage, I think building out a module around Kara Tur would be absolutely fantastic.

    I'd love the entire FR to be available as an online game, but that seems to be beyond anybodies scope or abilities. Heck we haven't even got a lot of the sword coast, let alone the heartlands of Cormyr and the Dales, so Kara Tur I can't see at all. But I'm sure like a lot of people I could do with some more samurai and ninjas in my life rather than another cult of the Month

    This game could expand to the rest of the Faerun. That whole Asianesque thing appeals to me.​​

    It would appeal to me too to see other parts of Faerun. I would love to see an entire set of expansions set in Waterdeep. But I suspect the next different area we may see will be Ravenloft, given some of the module rumors that were posted at one time for the tabletop game. Spelljammer would be cool to see too. Another guild or personal housing AD sink for updating a ship.

    They are WAY too busy putting out content that parallels what WotC is doing with the PnP and other video game storylines. There is no time for them to put out their own content -- there isn't even time to fix bugs in existence since beta.

    If they ever release Kara-Tur, that would be the perfect timing to release the Monk class... 3 or 4 modules later. :p

    Nope. This company, Cryptic, does not have the capacity to make something that could give the far east of Faerun justice. Additionally, until an official update is released, any company using the D&D IP will find that legacy and apocryphal data is "off-limits".
