Hey guys, i'm a pretty new paladin in game, before this class i played as a CW and there were no doubts but as a paladin it is not that straightforward:
Which one is the best weapon enchantment for a tank?

(ofc i know there is like trascendent terror that gives your enemy a dmg debuff and that's great, but i have not spent thousand of $ here and i'm not planning to do it, i'm talking more of low level enchantment)

Thanks in advice

Perfect plague fire is pretty cheap and decent.

While true, the POW debuff is mostly missing from PF, and the attack rate of the Pally isn't really that high, so I switched back to Terror.

Good news for the OP: Forget about Trance - Pure Terror does the trick, too. And if you steadily invoked on several chars, you might have found a Colaescent ward, and not yet spent it. With that the PuTerr can be basically made from a Perfect and a few dozen Terror shards, which are fairly affordable on the AH.

But yeah, the cheapest way in would be PF.

I tested PuPF and PuTerr in switch and found that the Terror significantly increases survivability... ...but that's WHY it's so expensive, ofc.

I've been rocking a Perfect Terror+Rank 12 Dark in my Mace of the Holy Knight since level 5. *Loving*. *It.* Am now a Protection tree and still doing respectable damage and remaining very survivable. Awaiting the rank-up of my artifact mace to unlock the enhancement before I bother with it.

I also have a Greater (is it "perfect" now?) Plague Fire and Vorpal on alts and thought of giving them a go with my Paladin but the P. Terror has been so good-feeling I never bothered. Also I do believe Terror can stack with other players using it, but not Plague Fire (IIRC). My big question is which Armor enchant to go with (no interest in Soul Forge - too ugly for me). Heh.

Eventually intend to rank it up to pure, give or take a year or three. LOL

Negation or Elven Battle both make lots of sense on a defensive character.

Been using both terror and fire on two different OPs. At low levels, fire sure feels more powerful. Haven't gotten that OP higher than 15 yet, though.

    Good point, thank you!

I'm curious how do you mean? Can you explain it better? Though I have access to Perfect Plaguefire I haven;t tried it because my Terror feels pretty good and powerful. Note that I am measuring my "powerfulness" in the *time it takes to kill a mob*.

If feels I am able to kill the same mobs faster with, than without the Terror. I'be been reading repost of PF dealing lackluster damage, but those were for Pure and Trans versions and that the lesser versions are fine. Now you have me curious if I should give it a go. :)

But I must say I am generally happy with Terror as it debuffs mobs which benefit everyone.

I've been using a Bronzewood because, well, I had one and I'm not rich enough to buy anything different. It actually works quite well but obviously far from optimal. As a cheap-*** 'better than nothing' enchant it does OK though.

Maybe in PvP, in PvE with current mobs dmg hitting for over 100k SF is the only way to go, unless you run with perma DP from OP.

Feytouched, now that it doesn't create exponential DPS for you/adds is a superb buff/debuff enchantment. :)

Now when Fey is fixed I think its superior for survivability at cost of party damage. However when it comes to enchantment thats gonna stay whole game with you I think I will leave dps inscreasing to others and stay with survivability. Especially that DP will most likely eventually get nerfed gimping our tankiness.
