As an example, 2 additional character slots costs 500 Zen on PC, but 800 on XB1.
Now, I'm reasonable. I know Xbox wants to make some money off of this. But are they really taking 3/8's of Zen prices? Even assuming that much Zen isn't generated with real money, but instead with astral diamonds, is Xbox really taking so much that we need to pay 60% more?
I'm just having a hard time wrapping my mind around this, and it (along with the lvl 60 kicking issues I keep reading about) are the only things keeping me from spending some money on the game.
I can't find pricing in the PC store for things like Champions of the North, but the bigger ticket items seem the same price--I think the Dragonborn pack is 7500 zen on both.
Why do you expect price parity across two different games/stores on two different platforms? The prices will always reflect the market, and the console and PC markets are different.

Champions of the North in its PC version was/is only available from a direct cash purchase. No Zen, No AD. It was $199.99. It includes in its current version:
Menzoberranzan Renegade
Gond's Endless Coffer of Pyrotechnics
Heavy Giant Spider
Bag of Holding
Panther
Respec Token
Gilded Moonstone Regalia
3 Extra Character Slots
Delzoun Treasure Box
Dust of Creation
Graycloak's Legacy
VIP Game Access
Adventurer's Helper Pack
Moonstone Regular
Robe of Useless Items
Dungeon Master (This was for foundry creation without the need to level up characters) We do not have foundry.
The Xbox version is slightly cut down on items, but not $140 worth. The original PC Version (also $199.99) included Astral Diamonds.

Your response seems argumentative, as I clearly stated I did not expect price parity (Microsofts' cut), but that is the argument you assigned to me.
The market, as a concept, only applies to those who participate in practical terms. I don't have to buy character slots, but I do have to buy sewer service. If it makes sense to you to have the two different prices, then you will participate. As I said, I could see some price disparity, but not this much.
As pointed out, our pricing on xbox for something like Champions of the North is much more palatable, as I have interest in only slots, mounts, companions, and additional races. I could see earning some Zen and adding some cash to purchase some of these things, but I'm glad they aren't putting $200 bundles together for us on xbox.
