To be honest, I don't know why anyone is defending this.
Lol
Well, I have noticed that many of those defenders are either relatively new to Neverwinter or the players that had a "vacation" in between. Most of the veterans and senior players are either gone or constantly cursing at what's happening to Neverwinter.
As for me, I find it way easier for me to bear the changes once you stop seriously care. Isolating from old players and playing with new generation of Neverwinter's players helped a lot too, when there was PvE.
Player for 1 year, got my 4 toons to over 20k gs now (4 artifact gear oranged on each) but recently stopped playing as it is simply no fun now. No fun at all...
And with the upcoming changes...
Well, I suppose I'll log in to spare it a glance but, c'm on - lvl 120 artifacts, lvl 90 artifact gear, 12lvl enchantments? No thanks I pass.
A game should be fun but not a tedious business...
Following the math behind all enchantments and refining processes, to gear out a character to BiS, it would take:
18x slots with BiS gear means 18x r12 enchants.
To make one r12, you need (4x r10) + (2x 930k rp)+(2790k rp) = 4x r10s and 4650k rp (not to mention the GMOP or maybe even legendary ones....)
A BiS player has 18 slots in his gear, which means: 18x (4x r10 + 4650k rp) =
83.7 MILLION rp and 72x!!! r10s
And thats just the enchantments... r12s and the artifact gear at lvl80 (120) = O M G
so what is the final cost of a single rank 12 enchant
lets say radiant 12
just enchants and gmops are like 12 mill( 4x 2,4 mill rad 10 plusgmops)
plus 4,6 mill of rp which is i dont know like 2 mill ad maybe
so 12 mill ad for 80 points in power seem a lot
if i get 10 enchants 120 mill ad for 800 power
In case anyone is wondering how further ranking up our Artifact Gear would look like in terms of RP required, follow this link. A few restrictions apply:
This regression assumes that there won't be changes to RP required for each individual rank
for ranks lower than 20 this graph is flawed. However the higher the rank the closer this approximation resembles current RP values
For ranks 40 and up the discrepancy is <1%
Method used: Fourth degree polynomial regression via Excel, R²=0,999995259
I'm sure there are better approximations than this one but it should give you a rough estimation of what to expect.
I'd rather see massively increased rp in dungeons tbh. XP comes from boring dailies, so I'd rather skirmishes and dungeons play at least some part in it. You say adding 20-30k xp, but that's just not going to happen unless it affects an RP counter that is affected by experience rather than actually giving an insane amount of xp. An xp system could take some work, and with that work they could just make the whole thing much better instead of making it a little more user friendly. Just adding more rp such as blood rubies on boss drops or whatever is probably more likely to be implemented imo.
Ideally the rp curve would also be adjusted but well, I won't hold my breath.

Don't see a reason either, especially not while the Radiant enchantments are the go-to dump stat after you max everything else for both offense AND defense slots, with both power and HP, and at the same time they are the ones that drop the least.

I believe they can implement both suggestions if they want to save the game. Have they not learned from the disasters mod 4 & 5?
If the current trend follows over with the implementation of rank12's everyone but the most bloated of whales will be in for an amazing lesson in futility.
rank11 - 8-12 million each
rank12 - 16-24 million each
It takes months to get a single rank10 that is dedicated effort no casual play.
6 months single rank11? A year for a rank12? Something has to change or this is
what we have to look forward to.
The grind is this game is beyond absurd. I played WOW for 10 years always in a top
guild working on being the 1st guild in the world to beat the newest boss. I can tell you
from experience I could go back to wow tomorrow and has a maxed toon in 1-3 months.
That means max level max gear/gems/enchants etc etc. The only exception would be
perhaps a rare drop from the current end game boss, and even then that will only take
as long as it takes to get the necessary dkp to grab the next RNG drop.
That is $30.00 max.
You could not get comparable gear in a years time in this game, unless you are prepared
to spend $3,000 - $5,000
Something definitely needs to be done. I will not stick around with the advent of rank12's
with the current system staying intact. In fact that could tripple the amount of RP and that
would be to little to late.
What needs to be done is to get an average play time for you average player, if they can not
max a toon full rank12's in 6 months to a year then it is to long.
GF - Sigh

I have one general question(not to you personally) is it confirmed that they will increase enchantments to rank 12 and artifacts(the 3 below) increased to level 120(from 100)? I am asking since this game has had false rumors before.
Well I have not played WOW for 10 years like you, but many years. However I must say being best in this game as FREE player is perhaps not viable in the future. You might find it hard to swallow, but this is not WOW where you must be absolutely the best mentality.
I am free player and I have only 1 rank 10 enchantment with one of my characters. As I see it rank 11 maybe doable for me to have at least one of them, but rank 12 sounds incredible much effort and/or AD.
What really worries me it this though. Dungeons Dragons have 30 levels and in Neverwinter every 3 levels are 1 level. That means if they want to stick to Dungeons Dragons rules maximum future level this game can have is level 90. If the trend goes that each level increase will give more levels to enchantments and artifacts then we are really fuc*ed except maybe that millionaire in real life who wants to spend an enormous amount of money on this game.

It's in the preview patch notes. Whilst they may be subject to change before release, that's what we've got currently.

*Cough* See my post here on why that wont work (http://nw-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?831791-Discussion-How-can-the-Refining-Points-system-be-improved-going-into-Mod-6&p=9970041&viewfull=1#post9970041) *Cough*
Lots of people did care. There were tons and tons of negative feedback and tons of suggestions suggesting ideas and changes.
To be honest, I don't know why anyone is defending this.
