Warlocks can't dodge?

I just came back to the game and started a warlock. While doing the newbie intro quest I discovered that I can't seem to dodge by double tapping a movement key. What have I missed?

You have shadow sprint instead. It should offer damage reduction and CC immunity, but it's not an actual dodge.

You can pursuit people with a knife though.

..and you have to hold down shift with your movement key.

Double-tapping the movement key will also start sprinting until you stop moving or run out of stamina.

Holy!? Thank you! :D I never knew that. I guess that's what I get for having a twitchy finger, resulting in having double tap turned off since Alpha... Is that true also for GWFs?

yes and Warlock sprint is also a reason why GWF sprint animation is bugged.

Are you sure about that CC Immunity?
Because it sure doesn't seem to do squat for me in PvP against those CW's and Rogues.

What you are probably experiencing is the response delay after you press shift or double tap. At least on the GWF the actual sprint activates a few moments after you told it to which leaves a small window of opportunity for cc to be applied to your toon. Unlike Dodge, Sprint doesnt work as a last second get-out of red/cc action. The only sure way to avoid cc or red aoe with Sprint is to start sprinting before the actual cc is thrown at you which wastes some stamina of course.

shoot whos CC is it that seems to get me no matter what i do, there is something that a GWF does that seems to catch me no matter what i do, i can usually null the TR and CW CC's though

otherwise not usually an issue, u just want to make sure you dont waste your run speed, i us micro runs to help with CC's since you can hear the sound effect of most CC's and dash at the right moment.

All of them seem to hit me no matter what :)
But, GWF, TR, and GF all have Controls that work right through my Oghma's.

Odd, this. Some people are saying that TR dazes go through CC immunity but my Scoundrel respects CC immune mobs in PvE.

I know that DC Sunburst ignores CC immunity at the moment.

Every class I play I change the keybinds to put the dodge/sprint on my right mouse button and the second at-will on my "right-left press" button. Works really well for a quicker reaction for me, and I think those fractions of a second actually go a long way.

TR has that thing that they throw at you and stuns you, i dont seem to have issues with that ability (u can clearly hear them throwing it so pretty easy to avoid) TR almost never hits me with a dazing strike and I dont see many TR's using it.

GWF as i mentioned there is only that one ability where they seem to surround you with a bunch of GWF's after images, its like a ranged stun, or just a super lag stun, but that seems to hit me when running or out of "range" but then again most of us believe there is an issue with how the server sees our run speed, since we seem to get hit by **** that we shoudlnt be hit by
