What is the purpose of control? what does it effect? what is its intentional use?

I have 134% control... and...

Arcane singularity is now a repel spell

Maelstrom of chaos doesn't seem to benefit from it at all.( the stun length, and prone are exactly the same as if I had 0% control) (maybe add in more stun length/prone and or more radius dependent on the control stat)

My CW desperatly needs a Gathering daily that actually works x.x otherwise CC as a CW is basically impossible

In addition my spell duration on Icy terrain doesn't seem to benefit from my stat at all. (maybe make the Radius be controlled via the control stat or something but currently icy terrain is exactly the same duration and has exactly the same effects regaurdless of control stat)
Shard of endless Avalach doesn't benefit at all and 90% of the time doesn't prone for the 5 seconds as intended but rather 1 second.

And if a Dev or somebody would respond...: What is control supposed to effect? are the bonuses Additive, multiplicative? Which skills are adversly effected by it? feat abilities? What is intended for this stat?

Also Control bonuses are NOT listed on the character page unless they come directly from Artifacts and Gear. (Companion active bonuses, and wisdom bonuses seem completely ignored)

if its a 10 second hold (for rounding and mathmatical purposes) what is the equation used to determine how long the hold is once control is added in? Since so many features seem to be not working as intended I'd like to go through the skills and test them out with a stop watch and whatnot.

Are Artifact holds effected?

Is a freeze counted as a rooted or stunned when it comes to companion bonuses?

etc? anyone wanna add better questions

I understand control to boost times on immobilizing statuses such as prone/stun etc. So freezing with chill at 6 stacks would increase in duration for example, or dazing an enemy after using entangling force.

As for a daily that acts as decent crowd control, there are two main ones. Opressive Force which is the go-to dps spell that also dazes and in MoF paragon path, Furious Immolation which gathers enemies similar to singularity and can stun with the right feats (although I think this aspect is bugged atm)
