I have experienced both lag and fps drops, my trace is fine(last few hops around 117). Lag and server not responding followed by disconect i encountered only in mods 1-3(their maps).Fps drops are random and i cant explain why, most happened in sharandar solo dungeons(witch fen the most) and dungeon all over( some solo some with parties).Last happened (lowest graphical settings)at the start of the dungeon(witch fen solo) i was just standing there and my gpu usage went to 100% stayed there for 15 sec and than dropped at usual 50-60%.This kept happening troughout all the run.I usualy play with max setting, but i tried with all settings at the lowest but it still kept happening.
I am not a tech geek but there some logic here that does not make sense.
So far people from various region submitted their tracer route, and true that somewhere between the hops there are timeout but they are all different hops. Yet still I wish the developer might want to look into the data packaging transmission between client and server that the hops are rejecting (hops gang up to boycott cryptics?).
Also, separating the chat log and game play data transmission into different ports may help/explain why chat still running while 'Server not responding'. Disconnection maybe due to server unable to receive the 'I am alive' acknowledgement from client due to timeout, why not Cryptic ask those hops why they are not transmitting their data over a period of 120 secs.

This is happening since ever, but with mod 3 became more noticeable. We can enter CN and get a good instance with 0 lag, or enter and get an unplayable instance. We usually re-enter again when get big lag, and problem solved.
I think the game has different sub-servers that create instances, and some of them are laggy. That can be an explanation to the lag when CTAs because CTAs are short and create lots of instances. Maybe the problem is in reciclyng those finished instances, or maybe they just need more of this sub-servers.
Im not sure if this works like this, but thats my feeling
if you're having lag issues meaning you are rubberbanding or have high latency, please provide your traceroute data (stripping any local IP information of course) for the record.
if you are having frame rate delays, this is not related to networking. you may try tweaking your graphics settings to improve fps issues, although usually after a major patch, you will see performance updates in the patches immediately proceeding the major one.
arguing those two points isn't going to resolve anyones issues.
and lastly, server not responding issues can be caused by high latency with on-demand patching enabled. what this means is with on-demand patching enabled (it is set on this by default) you will get updated files as needed. you will usually see this while loading into a new map or sometimes seemingly random. to disable on-demand patching, you need to go into the 'options' of the loader, find it and uncheck it... then save the options. once it is disabled, the patcher/loader will begin downloading ALL the files at once. depending on your internet connection and network traffic, this may take a long time. hours. each new patch update will download ALL the patched files at once and will likely take longer than before. but you won't have the 'server not responding' issues entering new maps. ever. :]

Your latency is starting at the first red hop and causing other hops beyond it to slow down as well. 13 is a partial timeout altogether, which can also cause issues. Also, the bolded portion would indicate to me that your on-demand patching is turned on....which in turn would explain a lot about the latency only occurring since mod3 if you're not allowing the client to fully patch before starting.
Now, this has been explained to you multiple times. Your posts at this point are only circular arguments that seem intent only on blaming the company and ignoring anything that does not support that predetermined conclusion.
Spamming the thread with post after post is not helping the matter either.

Turn OFF on demand patching and anything else that may use up bandwidth, such as messengers, Teamspeak etc. Even certain processes can cause latency issues, usually auto updates and scheduled stuff.
If you'd like to disable any process that may slow down your gaming experience and want to do it in 1 click, i recommend you to download IObit Gamebooster.

Little late on the reply, though. Also, please do use the edit post function if you wish to add to a previous post as opposed to making multiple posts.

Server just got restarted during this manteinance, I logged in to play expecting that there will be lag and for my surprise... ofc I was lagging, tried everything and nothing works, my internet is good so it is not client side. This issue is related only to Neverwinter. I've been playing this game since September with no lag and perfectly until mod 3 was released, unfortunately I'm unable to play now.

Do you smoke? Dust can get your system overheated if the fans are covered with it. Once i had the worst lag in NW due to my mainboard being entirely covered in nicotine dust. (i quit smoking by now, since it is unhealthy) Maybe that cause is an option?

My problem is ONLY with NWO, I've checked a couple of games online that I have installed in my pc and I was able to play as good as usually, just like I used to play nwo before mod 3. It is not hardware, my pc is in perfect condition and it is not my network, what else can be? I don't want to stop playing this game plus I'm guild leader omg

We all know that , i got same problem can't play for while but it not company fault neither yours neither mine, it that hop called .atlas.cogentco.com before the game server which lagging you and me and many people
I just did some research and it appears, that atlas.cogentco.com is causing many people, in many different online games massive lag spikes. What i do not understand, why don't cryptic bypass it if they are aware of said problem? From World of Bobcraft to Child wars 2... everyone's having issues with atlas.cogentco.com., just google it.

It's probably not as simple a matter as bypassing the hub entirely. For as long as it's been giving Cryptic fits (long before NW went live they were going nuts over it with the STO forums too) I would imagine that were it possible they would have already done so...to say nothing about the fact that not just Cryptic games are being affected. Apparently, the problem dates back from the Sandy storm that hit up there in the Boston area a couple years ago.

I've already said this in the thread several times. I'll repeat it here for emphasis.
That you can play X or Y MMO just fine and expecting that NW should have no problems is a strawman argument that completely ignores a very basic fact. Different games have different servers, and not all traffic travels along the exact same route. It is like saying "Although there is a hundred and fifty car pileup along Interstate 10 going to Los Angeles, because I can drive to New York on 95 just fine, I should be able to drive to LA as well with no issues." Also, your connection is only as good as the slowest relay thereof. It does not matter what grade or quality your connection is.
This is why we ask that players run traceroutes. It isn't so that Cryptic can blame your ISP or your PC, but to find out exactly where that pileup is along the way.

That has already been stated in this thread. But no point listening to us, we're just trying to make excuses.
The problem is that Cryptic does not use Cogentco. That is not their ISP. It just happens to be nearby. Cryptic has no more control over Cogentco than you do because Cogentco just happens to be on the way to their servers for many people. If we equate the internet to driving Cryptic only has control of their parking lot and the road outside of their parking lot while you only have control of your driveway and the road your driveway connects to.
I work for a big company's Distribution Center. It has 2 dedicated entrances and a 4 lane road in front of the entrance to accommodate for the traffic coming into it's parking lot. Past their parking lot and the immediate road they have no control of traffic. If the highway I drive on to get to work is too small to support to amount of traffic my company is not responsible for that. They can do what everybody else in the area does: complain to the local authorities that the road needs to be made bigger.
Furthermore the routes your connection take to get to the Cryptic Servers are absolutely, 100% out of Cryptic's hands. They have NO CONTROL over that. Your ISP's are what decide the route. Before I got Verizon Fios I had never had a single bit of lag because my previous ISP did not send me through Cogentco.
The only thing Cryptic can do, in theory, is move the servers away from Cogentco. But that is not cheap and has no guarantee of fixing the problem as anywhere has the potential to have another horrible ISP nearby.

And For "server not responding " Happen because High spikes lag, Either loading map or Walking in map.
2 days unplayable to play the game now -.-
Your latency is starting at the first red hop and causing other hops beyond it to slow down as well.

Will you see this before you say anything ? I said it not server or company fault and i say I can't play for 2 days now
Turn OFF on demand patching and anything else that may use up bandwidth, such as messengers, Teamspeak etc.

I will try the Gamebooster that all, there nothing else on to use my bandwidth, And I will try finishing the game files aswel though I'm sure it won't affect the game so much since I see no more patching files
If i enable on demand patching i am getting lag aswell, no lie. Give disabling it a shot you won't regret it.
I will give it shoot, It will take while also but let's see
I just asked a friend who live here with me in same country, he didn't have on demand- Patching like you said But still he was lagging like me sometime and he was hardly able to do dailies and nothing more.
I told you it won't male big different
Because there nice hope between The server and our network hardware that ruining and lags us to hell and can't play for 2 days until now .-.
Dust ? Smole ? I'm so caring about my PC XD, I keep clean it every week
We all know that , i got same problem can't play for while but it not company fault neither yours neither mine, it that hop called .atlas.cogentco.com before the game server which lagging you and me and many people
It's probably not as simple a matter as bypassing the hub entirely.

That's great, but i did not feel like reading through twelve pages of spam, tbh lol. Just tried to help that one guy out.
Just tired of the circular 'you're lying to avoid fixing the problem' types of comments.
The first line was more directed at them than to you.
how long we have to wait for play again?
