So i am busy fighting a mob in zone and get a friend request. The first time i was close to death so cursed and denied it without really looking. Less than 10 minutes later i get another one. Although I wasn't sure it was the same person this time I look to see who is trying to friend me without the courtesy of actually speaking to me first... and its obvious gold buying website@string of obviously random letters.... (not real name i will NOT advertise a gold spammer site) Obviously this is a new way to get around being blocked for spamming zone chat. Thing is, zone chat spam i could ignore, a pop up in the middle of a fight is just beyond annoying. I am aware i can ignore the account sending the spam request, but they keep making new accounts.
So my question is, how to prevent the annoying pop up in fight from coming up at all? Looked at options and there didn't seem to be any place to block friend requests... thinking i could toggle it on/off when someone i have previously spoken to wants to make a request. Did move the "notification window" off to the side in the HUD so at least it wouldn't be in the middle of my screen.
Also as a side note, does this behavior even qualify as spamming? IE is it acceptable for me to report this behavior as spamming? Or should I just continue to ignore them? Seems like spam to me.
Same, and i know there are many guys who suffered from this issue in pvp. When i was chasing or escaping, suddenly my screen was blocked by a friend request. I highly doubt it is from some player who played against me and purposely spam to interrupt me but it seems like even pve players like you got this type of problem... Any other victims here?
I got a bunch of friend requests on one of my prayer alts today , every character on it got a request a minute or two after I logged onto each one , none have ever even left PE so nobody knows the characters and they are all in different places , looks like the botters have a new annoying thing to do.
Oh, I got it a few times too but I was in Protector's Enclave so I just declined it easily.
It was definitely some gold site judging from the name of the person.

. . . This is annoying and if you're not busy with something, it's actually easy to report them. If you're busy, hit LATER and report them when you can.
. . . When you get the friend request pop-up, what you do is click on the ?-mark on your menu bar in game, then choose Help and then GM Help and report them for Behavior. Doing it this way (instead of hitting escape to bring up the menu) keeps the friend request box open so you can easily write the user's @handle. If you chose "Later" because you're busy, then the @handle will be located in your friend's list, up-top, showing as pending.
. . . I'm closing this however, for the forums are not the place to report exploits, exploiters, or any other bad behavior.
