Idea about Need/Greed

Shoot me down if this is bad, because I've only been playing about a month and just hit 60 ~a week ago.

The main issue I've had at 60 is with dungeons and the Need/Greed. After joining the Legit community, this has been less of an issue. However, I've heard all kinds of stories about "Oh, X Needed a huge Epic item on a Greed-Only run -> Drama -> Chat filled with drama". Whether that be for the greed of selling the item or the troll mindset of not letting anyone else get it is to be determined.

So my solution is this: Make "Need" rolled items BoP.

Why is this a solution?

In my head, most people "Need" big items to sell them on the AH and keep the profit for themselves, especially on PUGs.
BoP'ing items would remove this - it would ensure that they can't get rid of the item except by salvaging, or actually "needing" it and replacing their current gear.

So, with this, the people doing "need-for-profit" actually benefit more from Greed - they have approx. a 1/5 chance of getting it and being able to sell it.
Taking High-Vizier Slippers as an example - sells for 360k-36k = 324k on the AH, salvages for a fraction of that. (1/5)(324,000) = a much higher average return than 5 (8,000) (sorry if that's wrong, I don't remember T2 salvage numbers well) = (40,000) over 5 slippers.

Of course, this would in no way stop the trolls. However, it may lead to more successful Greed PUGs.

Thoughts welcome, or just shoot it down. As a new player, I enjoy the game, and I'm just looking for ways to improve everyone's experience.

    It has been suggested before, though so far they have done nothing to change the need/greed system. Maybe with mod 3.....

    Good idea although it has been suggested before.

    One variant is to make any needed item, BoP (to character only so not for their companion), non-salvageable and non-sellable.

    Another idea would be to extend the team voting system to permit loot changes. Add in a "greed only" loot mode, and allow a vote to be taken at the start of the dungeon, to lock the team into that mode.
