This is a problem, an extremely annoying issue in the game for someone with an analytically inclined mind. Most of the things in this game are numbered, allowing you to weigh your options, and calculate outcomes... however the fey blessing enchantment used for getting extra enchantments is not. I go out killing monsters and after testing I have determined that there IS an internal cooldown, but there is no way of telling exactly how long it is... Why is information like this and similar things not available. Look at the shield skill for mages, just says "Absorbs an amount of damage" that is all. What kind of lazy *** developer can't take the time to add a "" & var to the tooltip. This is coding 101, and takes absolutely no time... please fix it... I know high school students that wouldn't make such blatant mistakes.
To be fair, anything to do with RNG drops or rewards, they never mention % chance. This is a tradition almost universal to MMORPGs.
Yes, any player spell aspect like Shield's fixed damage reduction and others like it should have at least some tooltip description covering all aspects. On the other hand, Shield, like some other spells, does many things, so they may not have been able to fit it all in or they never got around to adding that level of detail in tooltips to all the spells in the game. For example, Shield has a very different damage reduction depending on whether or not it is in the Spell Mastery slot.
Honestly, if the latter were the only problems in the game, I'd be ecstatic... As it is, what appears to be limited development resources may be better spent elsewhere.
My peeve is that this information should be available to the users. The internal cooldown for every other enchant is labeled, except fey blessing, and that is because originally it had no internal cooldown. It was later changed and the tooltip was never updated, giving the user no idea how long in between kills he should go farming. Why force us to kill monsters like a rampaging moron looking for enchants when our hard to obtain fey blessings are incapable of proccing and we have no idea. The other thing is shield, you say they may not have been able to fit it all in, that is far from the case, they spent more space putting in obsolete information about the skill than they did actually attempting to give us information on the stats of the skill. The skill description reads "Shield absorbs a large amount of damage if not diminished, and recovers if undamaged for 6 seconds." Then goes on to list information about the second effect of the skill, then it tells us that the cooldown is improved based on arcane mastery, which is a given if you know what arcane mastery does, then it continues on to tell us about spell mastery saying this "Shield absorbs an even larger amount of damage when not diminished at all." I mean, really Cryptic, what kind of 4 year old do you have writing this that you can't put a number instead of a random vague identification. How much does shield absorb? Uhhh I don't know? Some? A lot? What is a lot... you can't give SUBJECTIVE information about a statistically impact-full function of your game... Things like this might take more time and effort than they can afford to fix.... my question is why aren't they hiring some people that wouldn't make these mistakes in the first place.. because that **** is just lazy... lazy lazy...
