In the forgotten realms setting (where Neverwinter is based) the powers behind those stars are evil creatures of the Far Realm. Not all of the Warlocks using those powers even know that themselves though.
Ah, okay, did not know that, I generally prefer Eberron so i do not know a huge amount about Forgotten Realms.
I was more talking about personality in general, i cannot see a very Lawful person making a pact with an incredibly dangerous creature
Lawful simply means that a character will always follow a strict set of rules in how to act in certain circumstances, it never specifies where those rules come from. A character who follows a strict code of behaviour whether or not this code conflicts with the local laws is just as lawful as a Fighter who always follows the local laws.
Wow, NOW I REALLY WANT TO PLAY A WARLOCK. This class is so awesome and intriguing with all that's involve with the pacts. Can wait to see it come to life in THIS game! Thank you for the info D&D Lore masters this is why i love this game! If there is more PLEASE keep discussing it I'm so interested that, I'm going to check more about this Star Pact Warlocks, Heroes Of Shadow talk about them but docent mention much will need to look up other rule books...
Don't forget, gents: CW isn't a striker. They are a controller who can do decent ranged AOE damage.
If we see a warlock, just as with the hunter, we're going to be seeing damage on par with a TR. Mostly single-target. Lots of curses and debuffs.
I predict we'll also see AP, recovery and stamina debuffs/drains/transfers, too. A set of mechanics we only really started seeing with the Powie's in Sharandar.

No source - or at least none I can post. The info has been reliable in the past tho; everything I was told about the ranger was true, except for a few of the names.
Hope your right Lobo, we DO need a Class that DE-buffs Mobs as for what it looks like they will not be updating the existing Dungeons any time soon as they update the classes (De-buffing) and bringing new content. I really which the Dungeons where more active like Skirmishes not just endless Mobs that forces you to find ANY exploit to run it at a *descent time*. I wonder if there is anyone who have done CN without exploits, how long did they take.
