But you don't have to pay anything, you can just buy the keys with Zen you bought with AD. So I don't think it applies for gambling laws if you don't have to spend real money.
That's just my impression though.
No the whole "It's gambling "think of the children!!!" argument is just idiotic, You make a very good point you don't have to spend a dime and can still get keys, hell the last time I was in Vegas they wouldn't let me work the door in exchange for chips.
The bottom line is we have this small group that will cry about anything and this is just the topic dujour; yesterday the exact same people who were earlier saying that they would never ever play this terrible game again were screaming that their server was down.
It's all about the whine and stirring the forum pot.

I'm a big fan of the school of hard knocks myself. Better some kid gets his tailfeathers singed here in a benign game environment than shooting craps with the hoods out in the ally, but then I'm not a parent. Most of my friends, however, are either parents or grandparents. When their kids came along I watched them morph strangely in ways I'd never thought I'd see. Most parents, consumer advocates, and yes, even the mean old government would consider your point of view to be the 'idiotic' one. And they make the rules.
Regardless of whether you call a commercial game of chance 'gambling' or 'promotion', It will have to be properly labeled with odds and disclaimers. If they do this for cereal box prizes, sooner or later it's gonna be done for e-games like this. Just like the ESRB ratings which games already have, its coming.
Edit
And I just HAVE to ask. Did you really offer to work a door in Vegas for chips?
