Problem with Grouping?

About a month ago I'd play all day with my sister and we would have no problems doing quests together. We did the graveyard and a few more after that. All fun.
But now, I'm trying to play the last few days with my Husband, the popup for the quest NPC speak window appears on both our screens and we are unable to complete it without one of us leaving the instance or leaving group. (We both click on the text our character 'says' and nothing happens.)
Is the problem on my end? Do I need to re install with the new ARC thing?
All of the Foundry quests work fine when we do our dailies, it is just the all of the leveling NPC's that seem to give us so much trouble.
