Very Special Objects and Effects

There are some objects in the Foundry which have some very interesting behaviors. I thought I'd start a list of them here, and update it as we discovered more of them. Please add any you've found, and I'll update the list, thanks!

Curtain - Door 01|02: will brush aside as the player moves through it.

FX - Camera Bloom Blur: adds a glaze over your screen, as if the character's vision is blurred (thanks gornonthecob).

FX - Crystal Explosion: a small but very useful explosion effect.

FX - Dust Ring 01: this provides a screen-shaking earthquake effect.

FX - Falling Dirt 1|2: provide a small (much smaller than Dust Ring) ground-shake effect, far less intense and very localised (thanks redneckronin).

FX - Ghost Flame 01: this glowing blue orb will vanish as the player gets near it.

FX - Magical Distortion: adds a shifting blur effect at a location (somewhat similar to the Camera Blur, but doesn't move).

Mossy Rock 08: this chest-sized rock will move around as the player bumps into it. It can be added just under a collapsing floor (where the player will bump into it on the way down) for a very nice effect. It also can be used to make an interactive "pressure-plate" if you embed it in a wall or floor, that actually moves as the player pushes it (see the DM's Studio NW-DHZ5DAV4R for an example).

Super Treasure Chest: You can make this chest have the "final reward" graphic effect by making it Contactable (thanks Anrix2). This would most likely confuse the player, so use it with caution.

This is a good list, wished Cryptic would actually have this in the tooltip of each respective object. Wouldn't take much time to add either.

I know there's a glowing yellow orb that disappears as you get near it, because I saw it in the Pack Man quest.. not sure what that one is called though.. anyone know?

The FX Camera Bloom Blur is interesting. I can see it having some unique uses. In my quest, I use it when the PC gets drunk at the party. It just adds like a glaze over your screen.

What I'd really appreciate is if they listed which effects are looping and which effects are fire once. That would be most helpful.

I'm having a problem with this one.. I have it linked to appear when "objective complete: drink" when my character finishes drinking in the foundry preview though, it never engages the camera blur.. ?

gonna try changing it to component: drink now.. but any tips on getting the motion blur to work are appreciated =D

Make sure your graphic settings are high enough -- a lot of textures require "high" shading setting perhaps it's related.

Yeah both graphics sliders set to max.. still no Bloom.. =X Couldnt get it to work with a 'component complete' either..

Asked in Zone_Foundry/ and someone tried with an immediate/never and couldnt get it either. =?

I used a skyfade heavy black fog.. the room gets a little darker over time.. not the greatest 'drunk' effect, but still serves the purpose. =D

Tmay depend on many things, running under dx11 included. Never tried but tmay as well be bluring bloom only - specific lights or lense effects when bloom is enabled and such fx is present (even backdrop settings can change it). Since last mod (i mean ToD as a whole, not its 2nd part only) many effects depend on being enabled during load (the settings tooltip may say its changed as u set it but its not rly like that, u have to reload such map, if not the client itself).

If nothing works (and ur vga is capable of handling such things), fill a bug report ).
