My quest is stuck at 8 min question

Anyone figure out what could cause this? I've had this happen in other quests as well and ended up adding mobs to the storyboard (rather than out of the storyboard) to fix the issue... (I THINK) but I really want to avoid that here. I have added 18 encounters back into the storyboard so far and it doesn't seem to help.

Running the quest straight through as fast as I can on a level 4 rogue takes me 14 minutes.

Background info: The quest started at 0 plays 0 minutes. I played it with a friend and we took 20 minutes. The quest then said 9 minutes long. I played it on an alt account and stayed in there 20 minutes again. The quest then said it was 8 minutes with 3 runs. I had friends run it on alt toons and they stayed in there for 30 minutes... the time still says 8 minutes. At that time we were the only runs. Now out of like 16 runs with 2 runs not being ours.. it still says 8 minutes.

Any ideas?

    Maybe it only recalculates the time periodically, and not after each play?

    The "average time to play" is just that: an average. Note that play counts still include the author, but (I believe) those plays don;t count toward "eligibility" for daily rewards. As for the average play time - it will increase as more players play the quest (not counting the author - I suspect).

    Plays from author account are counted only once per 24h. They do count against required 20 plays but only within this limit. Not sure if plays from other players also have this timer. I suspect that it is counted only once per 24h from any account.

    I have to wonder where the 9 minutes came from though after 2 of us played through for 20 minutes and were the only plays. And then when playing on an alt account the time actually dropped 1 minute.. There were only 3 plays. Me on my main account playing with a friend. Me on an alt account alone.

    It sounds like maybe it's not counting your time in mission correctly. If it doesn't count your time as author, there are initially two plays: 0 (for you as author) and 20 (friend), which would easily average to 9 if it was only 19 minutes instead of 20 if the system rounds down. Add another zero-ten minute play from your alt and the time drops again.

    Would be easy to test with an empty quest made specifically to do that.

    Interesting thought Kamalicious. Sounds like it would be a good thing for me to test on another quest. I would like to point out though that my alt was on a separate account for run #3 when it dropped a minute. Unless it is looking at IP it has no reason to know that's me.

    Ok, more info after a republish. Never played on my main account.
    Play 1: took the person 16 minutes. Displayed time showed 8 minute duration.
    Play 2: took the person 18-19 minutes. Displayed time showed 9 minutes duration.
    Play 3: took the person 19 minutes (ISH) Displayed time showed 9 minutes duration.
    Play 4: My ALT account I decided that since this would be play #4 I would take the duration that it displays, 9 and multiply by 4= 36 minutes and assumed by staying in there 36 minutes it would still sit at 9 minutes. So I then added 15 minutes to that and stayed in there 51 minutes. Displayed time was now 15 minutes.

    ---- Below is speculation. Above is fact.
    Play 5: No idea how long it took the person as they ran it while I was asleep... I am guessing he spent between 20-30 minutes. I will have to confirm this when I speak to him next. He had already run it on that exact same character and my thought was that it always takes your shortest time. BUT the time now shows 14 minutes.
