I am really wondering about that since i expect to see three times the classes we have now in 1-2 years - will all the classes use mutually exclusive weapons and armor? this would lead to a ridicoulos amount of different items and i think it would be really annoying...option 2 which i think would be the better solution is item recycling - E.g. Warlock can use cloth armor as the control wizard but uses daggers as the rogue...warlord can either use shield + 1h or 2h weapons, ranger can use the same swords the guardian uses but the armor from the trickster rogue etc. etc. etc.....do we know anything about that yet?
I admit I've been curious about this.... adding new "class restricted" armor & weapons for every class could quickly make boss loot tables and the crafting recipes (along with many of the vendor windows) incredibly messy.

I wonder how hard it would be to make it so that when you enter a dungeon it takes note of what classes are present in the party and increases the drop chance of loot for them and with a smaller chance for any of the other class equipment to drop.
Well scourge warlock only armor was dropping in CB 2, so at least we know the scourge warlock will have it's own armor type.
Do you happen to know what the Warlock armor was, as in was it a robe just like the wizards have, but for some reason unwearable by them, or some different type of armor?

I remember seeing a pair of boots with the label "scourge warlock" in red. There were a ton of pics floating around the forums during that time, I believe boots and helm were all I saw. You can try and google it and see what you get. Might still be some pics out there.
Interesting anyone that's played 4E know if Light Leather is a thing in the PnP I know they added a couple suits that weren't in 3.5 like great plate or something like that. What armor do Warlocks there wear in 4E anyhow?
I'm not sure why they don't just use the actual D&D 4e armor proficiencies. Cloth, leather, hide, chain, scale and plate.
The only point at which class-restrictions become really important to the economy and balance is at the level cap on epic tier items. Below that most people will just equip whatever is the best item available to them at the time.
