Do we have or will there be the ability to allow friends to join you on unpublished foundry quests?

Would like to collaborate with friends or have people test run quests before publishing to get opinions and such.

^this would be so nice to be able to work on separate things then bring it together like 1 works on map one works on costumes one on items and one or more on story could have some really professional stuff churned out for the nw community

This is something that was discussed quite a bit during beta. The developers have said, "Not yet, but possibly in the future." I think being able to collaborate on quests would be awesome.

This would be perfect, but also probably incredibly difficult depending on just how it is done. Having multiple people being able to change things simultaneously and see the changes that others are making live as they happen, that would probably require a ton of work.

But there are a few baby steps they could probably take now fairly easily that could work toward that end that I would love to see happen.
    1. Let other people join an unpublished map as a player, so they can run through it in its current state, give opinions/beta test it for me before it goes live. This also works if you have someone writing while you do the actual designing, so they can tell you if their writing is being conveyed well enough in-game.
    2. Allowing the authors to give additional credits to other people. Again this goes back to if you had a friend writing dialogs or whatever and you were doing the actual building, allowing you to put in a player's username into an additional field so that they can also accept credit for the quest. You could even add Foundry Guilds/Groups/Studios which are seperate from standard game guilds and the "Studio" name is what is in the Author area.

Concurrency is the biggest issue with this. What happens if two people want to work on the same map at the same time? Sounds like an easy question to answer, but it really isn't. There's a reason why I can name 5 different versioning software packages without trying :P I do hope they figure it out as it would be awesome to work on a large detailed quest with a group of people.

What happens when one of them gets ahold of the map, and in a fit of rage, destroys the whole quest.. does the other person have a backup copy? People, when in a creative environment, dont agree very often. lol.

The only way to do this is to create a new account and have both you and the other authors as the only ones with the password.
You can not be logged on at the same time but at least you can take turns editing the project, then you can split the tips 50/50 for your published work.

I honestly just want to allow play testing of a quest before published with people I know is all i really want. Better for those who approve the Quests if they are fine tuned before going public.
