Robe of Useless Items

My wife came up with something hilariously great I'd like to try for a story, but need to ask about something that will sound incredibly off the wall: Gray items. Particularly items that have little to no value. Would like them to be a significant part of the story. Haven't jumped into the Foundry yet (and until STO finishes the Crystalline Catastrophe, don't see that I'll have the time between there and here), but I'd like to know if it would be possible to program parts of the storyline to require useless gray items (traded to assorted folk) to continue.

yes you can make items, any items. all kinds of them if you want. but there is a darkside to requirements.. your intended quest people dont always do what you want them to, so be prepared.

Any items you use in your quest logic must be created by that quest, and they can have no function beyond serving as quest objects.

Thanks, Tilt. That's what I needed to know. Pity in a sense, but I can still make a good joke out of it, I'm sure.
