The Foundry and The Workshop.

Before I start I would like to apologize if this thread has been made before.

From what I understand that there is no way that some one can import custom textures of audio files, which is a good idea seeing as there are people who would abuse it. But what if the Devs make something that similar to steam workshop or even go on steam and use that? it can help bring in more content for players to use and will help solve the problem of UGC being repetitive with the same textures and what not.

The way it could work would be if let's say someone or a group of people made a texture pack and it had enough up votes then the devs look at it and judge it if it goes with the theme, and if not they could say that it needs some rework.

Well this is my two cents, what do you think.

    Have to say I was a bit disappointed to hear we wouldn't be able to import custom audio. I can see why the devs made that decision, but still it's disappointing. A peer approval system for such content would be a really nice addition.

    This is not and never will be the great Neverwinter Nights that allowed you to customized everything.

    Man....truer words havent been spoken on this forum.
    So...gonna try to recreate Ansalon?....nice...but how you going to make draconians.....or keep drow elves out?

    I take it you are one of the ones that visited Ansalon in the day :D think I recognize the name..

    We will know when I get into the foundry and see what it allows, I doubt highly I will be able to accomplish it..mores the pity..and Ansalon had drow :)

    As a long time NWN builder I have come to the realization that the Foundry is not going to give us what we wanted (NWN 3) but it is all we have right now, so I will use it and make quests and campaigns and have fun.

    Neverwinter isn't D&D, it is a MMO based on a game that uses D&D terms but isn't really D&D either. NW is fun (for that matter so is 4E), but it isn't D&D, and once you wrap your expectations around that you will be able to enjoy the game for what it offers and not worry about what it does not.

    Dude, if you created a dragon lance persistent world, you can darn well bet I played it in NWN. Fraghaus was my main one, HC server. But I played on alot of different ones, and I always searched for DL worlds and played them exclusively.     DL setting shouldnt have drow elves. Unless of course you are speaking of undead evil elven spirits, like the companions encountered and Raistlin called a drow....*whistles*
