Come on, this is the upteenth mistaken blog post already... You can't buy Mask of the Fallen (1200 tokens) from the last chance vendor, you can get Visage of Toil (1000 tokens). Bit rubbish considering they look nothing alike, you can't get the choice pack with AD, and that amount of tokens is not insignificant in terms of farming time. Wouldn't have bothered had I known Fallen was not going to be available.
Would it kill you to make sure blog posts reflect what goes on in the game?

Not only that but the way they have changed this event (last year it was changed for the first time after many years of it being the same) now gives absolutely ZERO reason to compete and choose different teams.
The way it used to be: Choose a team you like the visage of, and do your best to participate and hope you win. At the end of the event, the winning team gets to decide which visage wins that year (theirs) and they get theirs for free, while all losing teams must pay AD for the wining visage. The other 2 visages are not available because only the winning teams' is available as per the rules. This provides huge incentive to work really hard to get your team over the line so it wins and you get the visage you really want. Makes sense right. It's a competition, and you try to get your team to win for a good prize.
The way it is now: If you are on the winning team you get a free choice pack with all three visages inside and can choose whichever one you want. (I don't even know what the losing teams can buy now, it seems to be all over the place.) The result is that if you want any of the three visages, all you have to do is work out which team will win (easy to do at the start before joining) and everyone just does the one team, and at the end you get your pack and get the visage you want, even if it's on the other 2 losing teams. People may as well all be on the one team for all it matters.
This is pathetic and whoever decided to change this never thought it through properly and ruined the entire event. Well done, *slow clap*.
I missed out on the mashers goblin one the first year, 2 years ago, it is the only one which makes you that small (even smaller than Regis) so unique in the game for a visage and I wanted it to run around on for laughs. I went on that team and it didn't win that year. The next year the event was on I sort of knew the goblin would not win anyway, but at that point in time as far as I knew and how it had always been, the only way I had a chance at getting it was to be on its team and try my hardest so that's what I was forced to do, join the mashers team again in the faint hope some miracle would happen. Little did I know that it had all changed and the only way I was going to lay my hands on that visage was to be on the winning team which was iirc the Fallen team. So at the end I saw someone running around having fun on my goblin visage who had not even been on the goblin team and I was gutted. I waited a full year until this event now and this time I waited and watched and asked and found out which was the fave team. Vamps. So after I was more or less certain it was the most populated team I joined it and worked really hard on a team I didn't care about the visage at all, but when we won I finally got my goblin visage and had a great time last night running content while wearing it. So tell me how this makes any sense to make the event a good and exciting competition.
Next year (unlike this year when I was locked out) I will be in PE zone chat right at the very start of the masquerade event on day 1 and advise everyone that if they want the visage of their choice just to join the favourite team and be done with it, because to see so many people disappointed they can't get the one they wanted when all they now have to do is be on the winning team is gut-wrenching. It was only because people didn't know how it now works they were misled into thinking it was logically a normal fair competition between three teams. Stupid us. People don't play this game to be sad and disappointed and I'm totally over the way this game makes us feel this time and time and time again. So from now on just everyone be on the one team and claim your prize and move on if the event has been ruined to this point, just work within the rules Cryptic has stupidly designed and make it work for you and get the visage you really want at the end regardless of which visage that is, you can have it. I'm sick of expecting things to get fixed and work in this game, just use what they have intentionally put there and make the most of it and whatever. You want your visage, be on the one team which is most populated, which you can find out easily at the start, put in some minimum effort and claim your chosen look at the end.
