So with this latest iteration of "appointment" styled events, namely the Siege of Neverwinter, ignoring the fact that we don't get the reworked event, twice in a row now, we get the rewards we could grind for and exchange replaced with a chance RNG pack. Before this change, we could grind out the event during its lifespan, and get exactly what we wanted. Now, we will have to grind out who knows how long, to actually get what we're after.
To shed some light on this, and my frustration thereof, this event you could grind out 14 days (if I remember correctly) to get the Griffon mount. You knew what you were getting yourself into, you knew you'd be rewarded for your efforts. It just worked out. But now? You're farming, over and over, at a chance, and you might not even get lucky in the same amount of time, or worse yet, get stuck with stuff you don't even want.
You might think this increases player retention, but in reality, all it does is induce burnout, because when you finally get what you're after, you have no desire to continue playing; just look at hardcore Vault of Stars and the gear within as a result from rings, to armour pieces, to reagents.
Regarding the events vendor, is it too much of an effort to add all the event-exclusive items under the Participation tab, because if we are grinding out the event each day, we will be earning those tokens, so it makes sense we would be able to CHOOSE what we would like for our efforts. For example, the griffon used to be 21 days of grinding, so if we convert this to the new appointment-styled system, that would be 2 weeks of grinding, first week gives 1 token per day, 2nd week gives 2 a days, so after 2 weeks you should have 21 tokens of participation which you can exchange for the mount; in my opinion that is a fair exchange, and gives us even more reason to use the participation tokens that, at least in my case, are piling up with nothing to spend on.

I personally was so excited for Griffon because I knew I will get it if I participate every day with some days to spare but now I wouldn't even go after it because I don't want to grind just for a chance again. We already have so much of this in the game. Not to mention I still haven't gotten the VoS ring I've been looking for.
I really wish they consider choice packs or at least an exchange system.
Players have asked for housing and an overhaul on costume skins: that's where they will WILLINGLY spend money, so stop trying to create rng blackholes for the sake of Zen purchases when it angers customers and put some actual effort in to giving them what they are telling you they are willing to spend money on.

Everyone will have there own personal encounters in this light but this is it for me;
Login > Run vos/HC vos, burnout on rng > run Bel/HC Bel, burnout on rng > run Sharandar bounties, burnout on rng > run active event, burnout on rng. It's an endless cycle.
Whenever I want to do something outside of the cycle, like actual content which I'm forunate enough to be one of the fewer to have the luxury of (taking extended break and catching up), then I am constantly running into a wall that's usually due to a bug or removed content without any address to the state it was left in.
and yes, stop making the solutions available in the zen market. Short term gains for a short life isn't the way forward.
