Dismissing an artisan changes the displayed applicant

cooljinxcooljinx Member Posts: 79 Arc User
As above. I wanted to hire an applicant but had to dismiss one from roster first to make space. After dismissal, I switched back to applications, only to see the application changing to a completely different craftsman (although of the same trade, at least so far). It happened several times so far.

It can also happen that the applicant doesn't change and yet, when you accept their application, you end up getting the very artisan you just fired. I've had that happen a couple of times. Ever since, I've made sure to have two or three vacant slots so I can hire the applicant I want, then go fire someone else to make some room.

Is this issue being looked into? I sacked a jewelcrafter today to hire an alchemist, but when I went back to applications section, before my very eyes the alchemist application got replaced by an adventurer's one. This is very annoying and off-putting of this whole crafting nonsense.

I hope they're going to fix it. I work around it by making sure I have open spots, but this shouldn't be necessary. It would also be nice if they made it so the same artisan cannot apply a second time until after their first application has been rejected. I see it a lot on my characters where I have three to five applications and I'll get "Artisan A" as the 1st and 4th, 1st and 3rd (and so on) applicants in the stack.

It would also be nice if they would make it so you could automatically filter out artisans by profession. For example, my warlock only hires alchemists, jewelcrafters, and adventurers. It would be nice to set a configuration item that automatically declines applications from blacksmiths, artificers, leatherworkers, etc. I don't care that it might be a long while between reviewing applications to actually review.

I would like it, too, if we could blacklist specific applicants. People like Sven Longriver and Kefren Jorola will never work for me. Again, it would be fine with me if I just didn't receive applications to review very often. Not being annoyed by the artisans I never want to hire under any circumstances would be worth it.

Ewww i didn't know this bug was occurring either. Did not make my day to see it happen... i just want a blacksmith darn it! Been waiting days. *sighs I'll try emptying out slots to free one up. Thanks for this workaround.

There is an related bug of this. Even if you allow one slot open, the level of new artisan changes. You can keep going back and fore between "manage" and "new application" to see the level of the same new artisan get changed. I thought I could be smart about this by keep flipping and wait for a higher level. Well, when I 'commit', the artisan I got is not the last level it showed. Doh!
