Only Mail From NPCs And The Auction House?

Why would you make it only those two?

The biggest culprit of accidental deleting mail with items is players mailing things to themselves for use on alts. So you are still going to get a ton of tickets for this. It should have been all mail with items, or at the very least NPCs, AH, and self mail (which may not be able to be separated in the system from other player).

I could be wrong that this is the biggest culprit but I know the few times that I've don't it 9 out of 10 have been mailing to my alts.

I put a lot of cheap junk on the AH, most sell, a few never do. Sometimes I feel it's more convenient to just delete the message than get the item and manually delete it. I agree with you, all messages with items should be protected not just certain ones
