It's that old story: Dropped into IG with a good group - cleared bronze really fast. Everyone voted to continue except the TR who went off in a corner and sulked throughout silver. One of the other players called him out on chat and told him to "Move your HAMSTER$!!!!" So the guy starts hopping around the circumference of the arena 'til he finally got killed.
Last vote - he hurries over to vote Leave first - gets outvoted again and starts throwing daggers at everyone. He spent the first part of Gold trying to sit in his throne, but got blasted out of his seat, so he went back to hopping around the ring. Finally died again to everyone's relief. I figured that'll be the end of him, but nope - he ran the gauntlet just so he could come back and hop.
At the time, he was being an obnoxious, self-centered jerk, and it was frustrating watching him get rewarded for his bad behavior. In hindsight, however...I can't help chuckling a bit. Still would like to kick his worthless hide, but it is kind of funny.
I personally find it weird how people are. When I que for a random I have every intention on completed that random. does not matter what the random is I will try and finish that random. My issue is when people disconnect or leave. Not really an issue but makes me question them. If a person ques for any random they should have the same mindset as me. Sure you may get fbi or msp but you knew it might happen to start with so why have issues. IG I never vote to leave maybe its me maybe not but it can does not mean it will but can drop some nice pet gear. weird people are.
I only have an issue when people bug the instance on purpose, for example disconnecting in a way that you can't go in and can't kick or ask for replacements. Happens with PoM a lot.

I have zero issues with people leaving if they don't like what they get. That's why they have the option to leave. Just because you're okay slugging through something doesn't mean others are. People play the way they want to play. It's that simple. I applaud you for sticking to your guns but the choice is there for a reason.
For me, there are dungeons I just flat out do not enjoy. There are dungeons I want to do at certain times but not others. Call it weird or whatever but sometimes I'm not in the mood to suffer through a 60 minute MSP with a group that's not going to get it done fast. Have I done it? Yes. When I got in and made sure I had the time to kill for it. But if I'm playing on limited times I am not sticking around.

PoM, IG and ToD are filled with people asking to get carried. They often have 3-4k IL (or even less), while wearing a couple of sigil artifacts (lv 1, of course), base weapon (lv 3-4 one) with elemental fire off-hand. They don't need to do a quest to unlock them, just get lv 70 (unlike Moh and DL). They come and they don't even try to play.. now imagine getting stuck with 3 of those, one average pug (8-10k IL, hopefully he's dps) in IG, while being on your average support alt (8-9k il)... and those three vote to stay for silver/gold it could easily last >25 minutes... so, would you rather stay with them, or abandon, go to your next alt? Or even to your better geared char/main, and take your friends to tong/fbi which are with average group 20-25 min?
I try to help people if I see they're new, I sometimes even give out some advices/gear to them, but I really don't like leechers.
Had run an epic dungeon - can't remember which - earlier with my SW, then ran into the DC from our group at CT plus a GF newcomer. DC greeted me as soon as we noticed each other, which was nice in itself, but besides that, the three of us took our time and even got to chat on our dislike for speedrunners lol. GF was excited to fight everything in sight, so DC and I did our best to only throw in a hit or two to take some pressure off him while still allowing him a good deal of damage. GF said it was the most fun run he'd ever done. I'm sick and tired of CT at this point, but I have to agree.
Shoutout to that one time in CC with all three of us as SWs, too. It was a wild sslip race to see who got to clear out the mobs first.

My favorite IG runs come with four low iLvL toons. I can quickly and easily solo bronze. If they want to stay after that, they will wipe very fast and I get my AD.
The worst is when there is a tank who can take a beating but can't dish it out. They keep fighting even after the HDPS has long checked out, and the other scrubs who originally wanted gold are now begging him to wipe.
I was just in a 30 min IG. It's times like this that make me absolutely hate IG.
When I get out voted to leave and they make me stay I always show a Heroic or Fierce +4 ring with x2 offense slot in chat afterwards even though I only got a +3 necklace just to hopefully HAMSTER em off.
I got taken hostage in IG tonight. It's been a while since that has happened. As usual, I resisted and did not give in. I went afk expecting them to wipe fast. Turned out I had time to make and eat dinner, and clean up afterwards. Then I surfed the web a bit until they were finally done after one hour. It's the longest I've ever had to wait for my AD.
My 65 Pally was greeted in the regular Illusionist Gambit with the message that a New Player was present. There might've been two, 'cause both of them were below 3k. Of the two 70s present, one bailed right away so we wound up going in with only four players. Just as the bronze waves started, the other 70 - a DC, posted the rousing message of, "Just Die," and spent the rest of the Skirmish AFK, so we were down to three - no - worse, because a couple of times I accidentally let that lousy Leech intercept the big daily heal I had to keep tossing out there.
Managed Bronze alright, and leech I both voted to leave - not sure where leech got the energy to move his/her joystick. The noobs voted to stay. Tie went to the noobs.
I figured I may as well go down fighting, and gave a good effort. Leech died immediately - good riddance, but so did the noobs - a bunch of times, and I spent a good bit of Silver on my own. Still, team Noob managed to beat Silver too. When it came time to vote, I was sure they'd had enough. I certainly had. I voted no. They both voted yes. Unbelievable. Two to one. Win goes to the Newbies. Leech is entirely AFK by now. At this point I'm just staring at the screen - jaw hanging slack in utter amazement.
The first half of Gold was mostly spent as an Oathbound Chicken, alternately building yellow and threat, and running around squawking trying not to get killed while also keeping the mobs away from the other two. This time they both took turns dying and running the obstacle course back, and finally I kicked the bucket too. But at this point, I wanted that win - just for the principle of the thing. So I ran back in just as the last of my teammates carked it. Things got a whole lot better after the random chicken stage ended. Got through the goblin swarms, the poisonous hazards, the slimes, and finally kicked the Beholder's butt - just the three of us.
Got me a Black Pearl and some useless armor for my trouble, but you know what? I don't care. That was a good fight. Afterwards I mailed them both a couple of those Bounty Resource Pack whatsits, and wrote my thanks.
You can say what you want about New Players - they don't always know their limits, and often they test the boundaries of what they're capable of, and they do some silly things sometimes, but a lot of them have got guts - which is a lot more than I can say for those max level elitists I run into on occasion - quick to whine - quick to kick - quick to quit when things look too tough or aren't going their way.
This was awesome and sounds like an amazingly fun run. Thank you for sticking with it and making it fun for the newer players.
last RED was FBI on my DC: after a couple of seconds (IL check I guess), only one person left. We had some trouble on giants but eventually completed in less than 30 minutes.
The queues have been pretty decent for me lately - a few arsenecks here and there, but mostly drama free. Over the last few months, I’ve realized that aside from the rare players who go out of their way either to be jerks, or to be kind, there’s a much larger group who don’t have an agenda either way – but if they react to something at all, they tend to be friendly enough. And there are even nice players who look like jerks at first glance– but only because their intentions aren’t quite clear. That happens in dungeons a lot. In an attempt at efficiency, players sometimes come off as self-centered or even malign.
Got the whole variety pack yesterday while farming motes in the Fiery Pit:
The highK lizardman in sparkly armor who rushed in just as I was finishing the last group of duergar in a Demolitionist encounter. I gave him a chance to defuse the bomb since people are funny about being THE ONE to do those kinds of things. But he didn’t move, so after waiting a few seconds, I did it. Right away he sends me this tell: “^%&.” Was it directed at me? Directed at the fact that he didn’t get a mote? I don’t know. So I changed instances to avoid dealing with a potential jerk.
The highK who trotted into an encounter and stood there and watched me solo it. I’ve had this happen often enough in the Well of Dragons where a bunch of highK’s will spend a couple minutes just out of range in certain encounters like Demonic Escape ‘til I’m almost done, then they rush in the last ten seconds or so to get the reward. But in this instance was she there to leech a reward, or did she simply stop by to share her aura with me – in an attempt to be helpful without stepping on my toes? Do you tell them, “thanks,” or resent them for leeching? I'm never sure.
Then again there was the highK whose intentions were quite obvious. Right after I’d just finished defusing a bomb, he came bursting onto the scene. Apparently that annoyed him, because at the next stop, while my DC fought the encounter, he ran around aggroing all the nearby Fire Giants and mobs and led them back to me. Then he piled on the temporary hp and stood right beside the barrel bomb to watch me slog through it all. It was complete chaos – and a close thing, but the last thing I wanted was to give him the satisfaction of seeing me die, so I managed. After he collected the reward, he cantered off, and I never saw him again.
The low7K DC who tagged along for several encounters. She managed to time her Sunbursts perfectly with every single one of my Daunting Lights and DGlows – so all of them whiffed. I fled to the other instance and wound up alongside an OP who loved starting off each encounter with Relentless Avenger. You feel like you’re being trolled. I mean by 5K, you’d think people would know better. Then again, I like starting those particular encounters off with Flame Strike so I’m one to talk.
And it’s not just everyone else. My attempts to help out almost always go astray. Just last night I saw a player below half health finishing off a group of hellhounds, so I fired off what I thought was a quick Divine Healing, but forgot I’d slotted something else – so instead, like a total butthead I skewered the last dog who only had a sliver of health. Or the times, I’ve inadvertently messed people up by sending a heal with my paladin only to lure their quarry away after me. Or looked like a poacher for chipping some health off an enemy that someone appears to be struggling with.
You’re a jerk if you do. You’re a jerk if you don’t. It’s hard, but most of the time I guess it’s best to give people the benefit of the doubt.

This is what happens when players only experience with group content is running around trying to keep up with a Gearz Beast that can one-shot all the mobs
Just realized. That's what the random queue is like.
Those blue outdoor lavatories that nobody in their right mind or with good intentions wants to visit. You always go in all huddled up with your shirt pulled over your mouth and nose, and lo and behold! Sometimes it's spotless and tidy, and there's no you-know/don'tknow-what in the tank....and all over the floor, and the walls...and the ceiling...and OMG all over the lock?!...
But most of the time it feels like an act of self loathing to force yourself to enter. That's exactly what queuing has felt like to me lately.
I stopped about three weeks back, and it was like a whole new experience playing the game - felt kind of bad about having a lower income, but I really enjoyed it. I don't think I really realized just how much better this game is without having to deal with horrible people - at all. Then the last few days, what with the Protector's Speech, and needing some seals for something, I've been in a few times, and...guh...
Hope there's some other way to earn Seals in mod 14, 'cause it's almost more than I can bear to go back in for them.

I was blown away about how good that FBI run went.
