You'd best stick to once of the damage buff enchants (Fey/Vorpal/Dread).
I'm no HR expert, but from what I know, most of the Trapper's DPS comes from Thorned Roots followed by Careful Attack and Gushing Wound.
The former two don't proc enchantments at all and the latter only procs enchants on the initial hit, which means that the majority of a HR's damage doesn't proc enchants (or doesn't have many procs). You'd be better off in making your hard hits hit harder.

Fully agree with your conclusions. Just wanted to point out that in dungeons normally the main sources of damage are Thorned Roots and Plant Growth, very close to each other usually. In big raids against a single target Careful Attack and Gushing Wound play a bigger role (CA outperforms everything else if there are enough allies).
